Try any of the tasty bakery treats here but especially run for the incredible chocolates at this family run bakery. They sell chocolates from master chocolatier Haflidi Ragnarsson, one of Iceland's foreign- trained and now living at home, master chocolatiers.
I purchased an assortment of 24 pralines and had them alongside a box of Neuhaus chocolates I had received for Christmas. Neuhaus have always, with Wittamer, been my world favourites. I would put these in an equivalent category and recommend them especially for their uniqueness and originality. YUMM!!!

Small, fine bakery with delicious sandwiches and all kinds of sweet things. The different cinnamon rolls are particularly delicious! Cappuccino and tea are also good. You can also buy small gifts there, from chocolate to herb salt to pesto. Prices are quite high, typical for the country, but the service is also very friendly.

Lovely bakery and shop with coffee house; excellent bread and delicious vegan pastries, gorgeous jams.
Very friendly staff who generously helped me practice Icelandic without laughing. They of course spoke perfect English. Lovely atmosphere

My husband and I were driving around and spotted quite a few people coming out of this bakery. So we made a u-turn and came back to park and check it out.
We were overwhelmed by the pastries in this bakery. They even had full size cakes that you could also buy, plus some truffles and homemade candies in the back of the store. Every thing looked absolutely delicious and of course we bought a couple of things to try. 👍😍

Found this place by searching for breakfast places open near where we were staying. Menu in Icelandic but with Google translate I could figure out what most things were. At first I felt weird to ask them what things were but on the second day I felt better about it, mostly since the first day I bought something I later found out was made with coconut and I'm not a huge fan of coconut.
I thought the prices were good and the coffee was really good as well.
We have been back 3 times so far and plan to go again tomorrow to pick up some chocolate for gifts and get another round of pastries and coffee.
So many options for fresh pastries and sandwiches. We haven't had the same thing twice.
People were so great about helping us.
They do have a ticketing system so make sure to grab a number when you come in.

When we went to this bakery, my husband joined the line at the bakery counter and I headed to the coffee side. He purchased a Florentine pastry and a caramel bun. I purchased a slice a cake with hot chocolate. My choices were definitely better. There was plenty of seating to enjoy our decadent choices. This bakery is unbelievable. They have baked goods, chocolates, beverages and gourmet food items. It was a great place to stop for a morning snack.

I go here all the time for yummy stuff to take home. Make sure to take a number, so the staff knows it is your turn. Everything is in Icelandic, but don't despair, the staff is usually helpful. Everything is good here, and they never sold me anything not freshly baked, just go for it 😉

This bakery is in top 3 favorites in Iceland. Food is good and usually you don't have to wait to long to get serviced, unlike so many other bakerys in Reykjavik.. I definitely can recommend this one!

Went in for a quick breakfast, ordered a blueberry muffin. First the girl at the counter was rude just shoved the muffin at me, then second this muffin all fell apart when eating it, so dry and tasteless...
Won't be going again.

This is a solid choice when heading out of town and in need of some refreshment. It is situated both at Háaleitisbraut and in Mosfellsbær and sells very good bread, rolls and other baked goods as well as gourmet chocolate.

Excellent baked goods, coffee and coffee drinks. Free refills. Visited by locals and tourists alike. Friendly staff. A nice find outside of Reykjavik proper and on the way to the Golden Circle tour.
