What an awesome restaurant! We loved coming for dinner and trying local icelandic meals. The soup was full of flavour, wholesome and filling. We started with the fisherman's favourite and shellfish soup, and both refilled with the (free) lamb soup. We didnt quite make it to 11 refills 😂. The atmosphere was bouncing and the staff full of character. They are considerate of the environment with everything being recyclable. We highly recommend stopping by the restaurant, very reasonable prices for the amount of food. We finished with FREE waffles 😍 It was a joy to eat here.

We (luckily) came across this place on our first visit to Reykjavik centre. They offer tradition Icelandic food (fish pie, lamb soup and shellfish soup) with unlimited refills for about £16 each, along with a free drink voucher for their bar two doors down. Great atmosphere and friendly owner. Well worth a visit. Highly recommended. However, do not arrive to late to closing time or you will not get your refills.

Delicious shellfish and lamb soups and really tasty Fishermans Favourite - Icelandic fish pie at a very reasonable price - plus refills if you can eat more. Friendly staff and great banter. Would definitely recommend

I’d read good reviews for this place and upon ending up in the Icelandic craft beer bar, we soon realised they were linked. Great idea to be able to pop a few doors down to get your soup and then sit with it in the cosy bar with a beer. Bar and cafe staff were chatty and friendly. I think this is a small chain, as we saw more around the city. A relatively cheap eat for Reykjavík - we ordered a shellfish soup and a plokkfiskur and were offered a free refill to our bread bowl with a lamb soup. Free waffles were also available on the cafe bar. The plokkfiskur was great, but both dishes tasty and comforting. The bread bowl is a must for novelty factor. Perfect for lunch time.

We visited here as the reviews seemed so good, they were not wrong. Extremely good value for food and the Shellfish soup and bread you can get free refills, so you can't leave hungry. Shellfish souping a bread bowl was yummy! Only negative is, the queuing system was a little confusing.

Had the lamb soup in the bread bowl and my friend had the seafood (lobster prawn and scallop) in bread bowl and the amount of seafood in the soup was very generous). It was 2190 each , about £13 each but it was amazing, we got complimentary beers which would have been 1100 each about £6.25 each. We got another complimentary beer, can't beat it. Thank you to Johnny and Alex

We went here on the recommendation of a tour-guide, it's basically traditional Icelandic fare, done relatively cheaply (for Iceland, not for UK) in a fun environment. Its a set process, you get a seafish soup in a roll, then you can refill with a lamb soup, then a fish stew, and then followed up by pancakes or waffles. that is about it for the menu, food arrives in a matter of seconds, it's hot, very tasty and the owner is very engaging with the customers. When we went, he even gave us a voucher for a free beer at his bar two doors away - and if you know Iceland, that's worth a small fortune in itself! Highly recommended, particularity if your in need of a quick bite before a northern lights tour!

I am quite funny about eating fish so visiting Iceland was risky business but the food at Icelandic street food was absolutely brilliant. Full of flavour and so filling! Considering food is quite expensive in Iceland it was so good to find a place where you can have as much as you want for such a good price! The owners are friendly and funny and more than happy to chat/ offer recommendations for the local area. I will definitely be going back before I head home 👌🏻

Great place. Food delicious, exceptional serving and great atmosphere. Staff was super friendly .The soup was tasty and filled of lots of things . As part of the cost of the soup, you also get free refills of the same or different soup, also a vegan option is also available. Really clean place and you can eat delicious Icelandic food as much as you want. Overall it was a great experience.

We came across this great little place one evening whilst exploring Reykjavik and I thought the food was fantastic. My partner is not a huge fan of fish or lamb, but she did enjoy the Fisherman's Favourite dish. So I would suggest if you're not a fan of lamb or fish, then this may not be the best place for you to eat. I had the Shellfish Soup which was beautiful and you can go back up for free refills, which, in an expensive country like Iceland, is always appreciated! They also offer free little brownies as snacks, which again is a really nice little touch! Overall though, really friendly staff, great atmosphere and a brilliant place to visit!

They do 3 meal items; Seafood soup (bisque) Lamb soup Fish pie mash If you get the seafood soup you can then have as many refills of the lamb soup and fish pie as you can fit in. It's insane....pay for one dish and get the other 2 free! There are no refills on the seafood soup though. The service was amazing, very friendly and welcoming. It cost us £35 for 2 people with a fizzy drink each. Seemed a lot initially for 'soup' but they're hearty meals and super tasty. I definitely recommend this little gem in reykjavík, every time we walked by it was busy with locals and tourists alike.

Visited the outlet on Laugavegur. It was recommended to us by a local as we were cold and needed a cheap, filling meal. Tried the lamb soup (stew) served in bread. Delicious, filling and free refills. Water & small cakes for dessert were free! Highly recommend. Staff were so friendly too!

Reasonably priced, tasty food served in a congenial atmosphere. Limited menu but all great and you can eat as much as you want for around £15 - we switched from fish to lamb stew and had 2 helpings each although the record is 12! Free coconut petit fours are an added bonus. Venue is small but very warm in every sense of the word.

We visited after reading reviews and it being recommended on the free walking tour. We were warmly welcomed and chose the fish soup and lamb soup. They were both delicious and the free refills on the lamb is a great deal. It wasn’t the best fish soup we had whilst in Reykjavik, but for the price and speed of service was what we wanted. We were a little disappointed that we weren’t told about the free waffles and only realised by noticing that others were having them, so worth remembering if you visit! So if you want a cheap and fast eat, this is the place!

NOBODY LEAVES HUNGRY at Icelandic Street Food. The location in central Reykjavik was recommended by our tour guide on our Free Walking Tour. She told us this was like street food and it was the best in town and is a great bargain (for Reykjavik). We cannot disagree. We had the Traditional Icelandic Fishermans Favourite with bread on the side and the Traditional Icelandic Lamb Soup. Wow, they were delicious! Best of all, you can get unlimited extra servings, too! No questions asked. In addition, they have all sorts of pastries to accompany your meal at no extra cost. Seating is a bit tight as the restaurant is small, but they have another location with more seating a few stores away on the same street. Highly recommend to eat here (and again and again).
