We had an early morning walk to Pyynikki and visited this nice cafe. At the same visited the tower where the view was very nice and worth of 2€ entry fee. Coffee and fresh donuts with friendly service. Will visit again for sure.

Would be a great place to walk from the city and enjoy the views on the way. I bought a bag of ”munkkeja” to take home. They were average/ok nothing special. Suurin odotuksin ostin munkkipussin, mutta olin pettynyt. Munkit ok, mutta ei sen enempää. Edelleen siis etsinnässä hyvät ”kotitekoiset” munkit.

The lady who served us was really friendly, and the munkki were delicious! Even better, we found a seat by the window overlooking the forest, so it was a very peaceful place to spend a bit of time and try this Finnish speciality. It is small inside, so you might not always manage to get an indoor table, but there are also some outdoor tables - you would need to wrap up in cold weather though!

The location of the cafe is quite nice and the adjoining tower offers nice views. But the cafe itself is a bit overhyped. Selection is very limited and most people really choose to buy just the traditional doughnuts with some coffee. On summer weekends there seems to be a long queue - always - so time you visit on weekdays (safe "corona distance" is impossible...). On weekends the very limited parking space is also a problem, as the city of Tampere is said to aggressively fining cars that are parked nearby...

Maybe the best donuts in the city! Not sure if we have good ones around, but the specific ones are delicious, with a great taste of cardamom.

Great views from the observation tower. There was still a good weather. The cafe was nice, good atmosphere.

A very nice cafe in the observation tower. The place is really popular, so be prepared to stand in line though.

If your enjoying the nature at Pyynikki, this small but cozy cafe is a must

This is one of the must places to visit while being in Tampere.
On the ground floor there is a coffee shop that makes their own fresh donuts that are famous in the area and we’ll know from Kummeli tv series. The taste is unique to Tampere.
While visit climb up tot he observatory to see the beautiful view of the Tampere as two beautiful lakes näsi- and pyhäjärvi are stretching far away as the eyes can see. It’s the highest point of the city. Especially during the winter the view is marvelous.
Next to the tower there are nice walks around the forrest that is rich with berries and mushrooms during the autumn.

Lovely views from tower top 360 degree view of Tampere. Great coffee and donuts after strenuous walk through the woods and up the staicase to tower top . should have used the lift.

We stopped here for a coffee and donuts after going up the tower and it was a bull's eye! Donuts were freshly made, still warm, soft inside and crispy outside, and with a touch of cardamom... Yummy!
The place is not so big and we occupied the last table, but it's worth waiting as generally people spend there around 15-20 minutes.

I visited Tampere for 1 weekend.I got the chance to make a nice walk throughout the forest and climb high to the Tower. On top of the hill there is a lovely cafeteria with very delicious Munkkis-Donouts! A must see if you visit Tampere and in addition you will have a beautiful overview of the city and the excellent finish nature!
