Brilliant and fantastic

Having found this restaurant online we couldn’t wait to try for over a year. We had travel over for the IIHF World Championships as part of our honey moon and we where blown away by the food, style of the restaurant and the service from Sven. If we are ever lucky enough to travel to Tampere again we will visit. Thanks again for a brilliant experience.

Very tasty dinner and great atmosphere

All the dishes that we ate were very good - first and main dishes. Dishes that I recommend were Salmon with crab sauce, Salmon with pumpkin puree, pig shoulder with pig ribs . All was tasty, atmosphere was Viking-like, we really enjoyed our dinner.

I have visited Harald many times over the years, and often select it as a place to take visitors to the city. It has always been a delightful experience, in terms of its slightly kitsch but enticing ‘Viking’ theme, food and custom drinks to match and generally good service. However, on this occasion it was clear that it has gone downhill, at least in terms of the food, which is obviously the most important part of any restaurant experience. As a vegetarian I do recognize that the main menu element, given Harald’s theme, must be meat: so I do not expect a wide selection of veggie dishes. However, in the past the veggie options were always delightfully inventive and unusual. This time it seemed to be rather tasteless veggie burgers straight out of the freezer, served in a rather tasteless sauce with less than stellar accompaniments. I don’t think even a vegetarian Viking would have pillaged and plundered for such a meal. My colleague took the reindeer, which seemed a really paltry portion size, though apparently tasty. He had initially wanted a salmon main dish, but the fish option on the menu also sounded rather meagre, with a salmon ‘portion’ accompanied by prawns. If Harald wants to maintain its ‘novelty’ appeal I think it can and must do better.

Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. If you go there, I recommend eating Aegirin alkuhyvä. We waited a long time for our main course although the restaurant wasn't full. I ate Mustaparran härkää and I was very disappointed. The meat was tough and I couldn't eat everything. Also, I ordered medium- and this meat was more like rare. At least our waiter recommended a good wine. This place isn't cheap so I don't recommend, at least don't take the meat.

Been here many times and always got nice service, really good food and full stomach. Athmosphere is nice and those different things how they serve food 👌 On the fotos are only main course and ending plate. We were too hungry to remember to take a foto of it.

Which, if I'm not mistaken, is part of a chain. I think I have seen others in other cities in Finland. Nevertheless it applies: the meats are good, the menu is extensive and the service is friendly and fast (not obvious around here). Average prices. The Viking setting is also nice.

We had a dinner with a big group here. 30+ persons and it was organized well. Tasty food, a bit boring beer selection and friendly service. A bit pricey though. Nice viking theme they followed pretty nicely.

We were a bigger group of friends having a dinner together. The staff was great, they worked hard and smiling making our evening perfect. The food was delicious. The desserts were perhaps a bit small but very good. One star missing because it was difficult to read the menu. Maybe a small lamp attached to the menu for those who need it would be good 😊.

Good food, superior service

During week nights, the place is not crowded at all, we were literally the only customers, which resulted in superior service. The food was excellent, large portions. Not super cheap but not too expensive either. The design is unique as it should be in this type of theme restaurant. Accessibility by car is a bit difficult as closest parking is a few hundred metres away, and especially during day time those are always taken. In the evening it was no issue.

The waiter was sick at work, her nose was completely blocked. The food was expensive for the quality. I ate an hamburger, but could not eat all the beef, because there was so much of it. There are no lighter dishes on the menu.
