Nice smoked salmon in a beautiful old building in candle light. Tram stops nearby ! Excellent Alsace white wine too! Recommended for romantic dinner!

Nice place, cosy and all. Good food. Service slow and slow/sloppy. Terrace nice, cars too close. Expecially if not parket right.

We reserved a table and came exactly at a reserved time. However we were asked if we could seat on the terrace. We didn't want to seat on a terrace. Then the hostess went somewhere, came back, said that there were no free tables and...asked again about the terrace. Then I pointed that I reserved a table. She gave us a big sigh (!) and disappeared again. Then another person came and let us to a table. So there were empty tables! The food was OK, but not special. When we ordered dessert, they asked us again whether we can eat our dessert on the terrace. It was already too much. They just behaved like we were not wanted inside the restaurant. Needless to say we were very disappointed by such service from the very beginning, but after being asked about the terrace for the third time we already regret we came there at all.More

We literally stumbled on the restaurant Heinätori (Haymarket) on Pyynikintori in Tampere as the building is quite unpretentious, sitting by the corner of the square. We found out that a couple owns the place and they seem to take active care of their property, This,...of course, brings a nice touch to the visit. The menu is short, simple and superb. We had mushroom soup and a fantastic summer salad, followed by fried vendace (a classic dish which easily shows the quality of the kitchen) and lastly an innovative crème Brûlée. The service was attentive and friendly and food was really good, especially considering the price level (modest). Leave the city centre chain restaurants behind and go to Haymarket!More

My wife and I visited this restaurant, whilst in Tampere, to celebrate my birthday. We were not disappointed. Every course was top quality. In particular the smoked salmon I had for my main course. It was so delicately smoked, it was delicious. I have never...tasted smoked salmon like that before and would definitely go back for it again. The elderly waiter added some light entertainment to the meal. I would certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Tampere. Prices were similar to what we would expect to pay in Scotland for this quality.More

We visited this cozy place, which is full of history, with friends and we all were amazed of the place. The owner greeted us at the door and all the staff was very friendly. The food we had was very tasty and was made with...care and love. By the recommendation of the owner I took a Tenderloin steak and it was melting in my mouth. We had the best time in this lovely restaurant and we enjoyed it very much. Our sincere thanks to Lauri and Irja and hope to come back in near future.More

We enjoyed a superb dinner in this nice and cosy restaurant with friends. The menu is not wide but there are choices for every taste. Every ingredient is treated with honesty and respect - you can feel the fresh taste of local fish and vegetables...and see fine simplicity on the plate. The pike-perch from nearby lake was fried to the perfection and the crème brûlée with lingonberries tasted like heaven! Last but not least - the service was excellent and the owners were there to welcome the guests, tell the stories about the house and recommend the food and wine. This all made us feel like a part of this lovely family!More

Staff was really welcoming and owner was over to that. It's nice to see that this place is hers heart and soul. I would be easy to stay here longer and enjoy this place.

It is good to reserve your table before visiting Heinätori, because it is rather small restaurant. There is nice atmosphere. We visited at daytime and it was very light inside, which was nice. We had full menu and were very satisfied. Also gluten-free meal was...possible.More

Most likely the best value for your money in the city of Tampere, in fine dining category. Some seasonal dishes outside of the main stream. Staff pro and the owners are personalizing the service to the top. Small and romantic environment.

We had an excellent dîner at Heinatori restaurant. The food was gorgeous with local products such as home made smoked fish salmon or vendace (small lakes fishes). The owner is a charming man and the atmosphere and decoration are very relaxing. Prices are reasonable for...Finland ( 150 euros for 3 meals : 3 courses and 2 glasses of good wine).I do recommand this restaurantMore
