Outstanding dining experience! The food was exceptional, and the service was top-notch. It's a gem of a family-run restaurant frequented by locals, evidenced by the queues out the door. We savored the steak and veal dishes, and every plate was left empty.. Dont expect a...fine dine restaurant but we would highly recommended!More

Outstanding local food! Mom is in the kitchen whipping up her secret recipes and they are delicious! My husband had the pork and bean stew and I had the grilled chicken. Both were SO tasty and authentic. We ordered the half portions and it was...plenty! I can't wait to go back.More

Very tasty homemade food, but be careful; tre portions are huge; if you eat as a normal person, 1/2 of a portion will be more than you can eat

Amazing! We had been to a restaurant 10 minutes away, that serves food on saucers... you know the type "an interesting twist on a traditional dish". The interesting twist is that you are paying through the nose for tiny quantities of food. And sure, there...is a market for this pretentious nonsense - and good luck to them. However, if you have a proper appetite and like to eat in the company of capable and friendly local chefs, this is a beautiful treat. The place looks basic enough (old school), but the food and service is superb. Was here with my wife and 2 kids. We were treated so well. Went twice on a 3-day trip. Will be back again soon.More

Another small restaurant, popular with locals and recommended to us by our Worst Tours tour guide. (The tours are really good, despite the name). Anyhow, getting back to the restaurant, great, amazingly affordable, good food and wine. Wife and I had multiple dishes and a...bottle of house wine and got out for less than 40 Euros. And, despite its name, it serves authentic, local Portuguese food!More

This was our first dinner in Portugal and it was a great introduction to the food. The restaurant is tiny and was full when we arrived. We stood around at the door for a long time until a British couple who were leaving told us...to push ourselves in. The food was simple, unpretentious Portuguese dishes at rock bottom prices, which is probably why there were lots of locals eating here. The bacalao fritters were delicious as was the cod steak and the chicken. We ordered a bottle of the more pricey house vinho verde, which was 7 euros! I think our total check came out to about $10/person.More

Restaurante Roma serves authentic Portuguese dishes in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Neither the interior of the restaurant nor looks of the food are fancy enough to be posted on social media, but the quality of the fish dishes, starters and desert we had were...absolutely flawless. The house white wine was super refreshing and mildly sparkling. We liked the overall experience a lot:) On top of that, the prices are just surreal. For 2 bolinhos de bacalhau, 2 fish main courses, 2 deserts, a bottle of white wine, a bottle of sparkling water, one espresso and one cafe latte we payed 29€. I will definitely come back:)More

This great restaurant is a local's favorite and very busy. We were lucky we didn't have to wait long for a table and the waiters were friendly. The choices on the menu were varied and our waiter spoke good English so able to assist. The...wine and food were delicious (nothing fancy however very tasty meals) and plentiful. We will be returning again during our trip in Porto. Thank youMore

We had dinner here twice while in Porto. The restaurant feels cozy and home like. There are tourists but also locals and the service is friendly. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. A restaurant to go back to for sure.

I stayed in an Airbnb in Porto, and my Airbnb host recommended Restaurante Roma. It was my first meal in Portugal, and was such a great way to start the trip! I ordered from the daily menu and tried "wreckfish" for the first time. It...was absolutely delicious - so tender, fresh, and perfectly cooked. It came with broccoli and potatoes, both of which were so yummy! If you go, definitely order off of the daily special menu.More
