Very pleasant dinner with a group of friends. The food was excellent, with a great menu. The service was very attentive without being intrusive, the venue is very interesting. The pictures on the walls made great topics for discussion. Very good all round if a little expensive.

Visited for the second year in a row and it's even better than we remember and the staff are the same lovely people we encountered last year. The food is excellent and by the looks of other dishes coming out at lunchtime, it's all amazing and very reasonable, well cheap actually! 8.90 Euro for a hearty and delicious lunch, with... More

We really liked this place. We both chose the set price menu which allowed a choice of starter, main & dessert from the a la carte menu, paying extra for the 'basic' wine flight. An amuse bouche was served before our menu choices, and we could choose between a glass of sparkling wine or Madeira as an aperitif. Every element... More

We visited on 18th March specifically for the Tasting Menu as we enjoy the menus which experienced chefs put together, especially when we are in a country different to our own. Naturally the wine pairings are a "must do" with this type of dining. The restaurant also has an extensive á la carte menu. We had two tasting menus to... More

A visit to Armazem is usually the highlight of our 'eating out' in Funchal. On all previous occasions the service has been excellent but sadly it has slipped since our last visit two years ago. We usually eat here at least twice during our weeks stay but did not return on this occasion. I have to say though the food... More

Probably the best restaurant we have found in Madeira. Enticing atmosphere and attentive service. The two different amuse bouches added greatly to the experience. My wife's duck breast was tough. My pork belly, small, mostly fat and the dish inundated with too many lentils.I did however welcome the very original green creme caramel pudding. A worthwhile experience. Shame about the main... We had such a great experience when we last visited for lunch. The wine matching option was chosen and it was brilliant. On our return we booked for supper and took our friends, as we had raved about it. Once again we stumped for the wine matching and waited for a repeat performance. The quality of ingredients, ambiance and location... More

I was on holiday with my partner and my parents, my parents are regulars in Funchal but this was my first visit. They insisted we go to this restaurant and boy it did not disappoint! The value for money was incredible, we have 5 courses with accompanying wine, I live in Birmingham and the food here could easily compete with... More

We usually spend 2 nights of our weeks holiday eating at the Armazen do Sal and again this year did not disappoint. The staff remain continue to maintain their high standards of service. The food is cooked and served to 5 star standards in a building which is tastefully decorated. A first class establishment which I heartily recommend.

We were 6 persons for diner at Armazem do Sal. The restaurant I quite popular, so we did a reservation through the web-page. The reservation was confirmed quickly, and the table were ready for us upon arrival. The food we got was comparable to the level of the best restaurants, and the price compared to the quality of the food... More
