A restaurant with a really nice view, great for sunset. The staff was really friendly and got us a table even though we couldn’t book. The food was simple but of great quality: we had some grilled fish such as cuttlefish and sea bass.

Very friendly restaurant with excellent fish served in a relaxed atmosphere. The staff were very helpful and showed us the various types of fish before we made our final choice. Definitely recommended.
Finally it all came together. A superb Swordfish, a good desert and a coffee exactly how a coffee should be. "Obrigado"
We have been here once, the restaurant was almost full. I would say that the food was good, common traditional Portuguese cuisine. The staff wasn't very attentive, but probably because they don't have enough people working there. The location is quite nice, the restaurant has...its own parking.More
Dinner with family , fish and meat with fries. Staff was very friendly and food was very good. Will go there again.
I cannot say which dish was my favorite. They were all amazing. We tried 3 mains to share for 2 pp. The portions are abundant. But the cake ‘delicia algarvinha’ was OMG no words! Totally recommended.
This place is great and so much food to eat for one person. You get olives and bread as a appetizer and I ordered the sardines. Wonderful and you can sit outside and enjoy the view. Highly recommend this place.
the rudest waiter, not even trying to understand us, not being helpful at all and making faces. left after the starters. try to find something - anything - else along the coast if you’re hungry, this place is awful.
My wife and I wanted to have a day of celebration because our daughter, after six years at University where she had obtained a Law Degree and two Masters Degrees, had just finally completed her final assessment and is now a fully qualified Chartered Surveyor....We choose Bom Petisco for a latish lunch and it did not disappoint us. Unfortunately the entire menu was in Portuguese and we could not make head nor tail of any of the meals available and the waiting staff didn’t have any English either. Thankfully the waiter manged to make a good case for the Dorado fish dish and we both took it. Sadly it wasn’t filleted so we did have to mess about de-boning it but it was extremely tasty and very well cooked. The wine was really good too and we had a very nice dining experience and we both felt we had picked the right establishment fitting of our celebrations. I finished off with a very nice pudding too!More
Fantastic restaurant with sea view. You will never eat better, fish out of this world, serving a good variety of dishes and excellent wines. Gets very busy at weekends so best to book.
Ok, so we took the scenic route along the coast which gave us nearly three hours from Luz in which to work up an appetite. My daughter and her husband had visited here in recent years and their recommendations are usually solid so it was...worth the trek. The same chap that has been there forever was handing out menus and dispensing a welcome glass of chilled rosé. Just outside the front door is a way into the fresh fish counter where you can view and choose your main course. They will sell you some to take home if you wish. We shared some succulent local clams to start then a selection of grilled fish fresh from the slab - seabream, seabass and swordfish steak. With it came a steaming plate piled high with simply boiled vegetables, carrots, green and white cabbage and earthy potatoes. As authentic a meal as you could wish for and representative of the Alentejo cuisine of old.More
We discovered this place on our way to Algarve, while traveling by the coast. It is right next to a small beach. We found the place to be full of locals and it looked like that they came specifically to eat in that restaurant. Everything...on the menu it looked really nice, but after looking around we saw one couple eating a stew with fish from the big pan. It looked so good, that we could not resist to order the same dish. It was a good a choice. Good find for us and pleasure to leave a good review for upcoming visitors exploring the coast of Portugal.More
Wide range of fresh fish. You can choose your own. If you ask, you can see all the fresh fishes. Just like all typical Alentjo restaurants, dishes are served with lots of veggies and green salad. Vitamins! Nice people as well.
First time I visit Bom Petisco was almost 20 years ago. It was a very humble restaurant in the Alentejo Coast near Porto Côvo in front of the beach. Fresh fish, simple salads with local veggies and a simple but effective house made desert! Ah...cheap!...Today Bom Petisco in still simple and humble in the kitchen but, and naturally, upgraded its room and open a nice terrace. I recommend it! AKMore
This is my usual stop for dinner when going south to Algarve west coast. They have very good grilled fish (my favorite is the "boca preta") and amazing "espetada de lulas". Also the "massada de peixe" is quite good! The choice of typical desserts are...extensive and the have an amazing "travesseiro de noiva". It's not a fancy restaurante but the service is always quite nice and the sunset is AMAZING (try to schedule your dinner to be compatible with sunset hours)!More
