Amazing pesto

I ordered spaghetti genovese and it was absolutely amazing. So far one of the best pestos I have eaten. I got my own block of cheese so I could grate as much as I wanted on the pasta. The staff was friendly and could speak english with me. Even if the restaurant was full I got my food quickly.

Tasty food, but indifferent service

When we first arrived, we were treated extremely well and seated immediately. I ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio and a delicious pizza and my husband ordered spaghetti carbonara. The pizza and the spaghetti were both excellent but our salads to begin with were expensive and disappointing. I paid Swiss Fr.16 for an artichoke salad that was completely flavorless and my husband had a mixed salad that was so drenched in salad dressing that he had to pour it off on the side plate. Once we had our meals, the server completely ignored us, never asked us if we wanted more water or wine or anything for dessert, so that was disappointing after a good start. Highly recommend the pasta and the pizza, but would suggest you do not order any side salads as they were very expensive and disappointing!

Many great visits in the past - but this came as an unpleasant surprise.

Quite a disappointment. Which I wasn‘t at all used to as I‘ve been visit the restaurants of this chain for years. First of all, the Chef de Service was rude to us to start with (we actually had a reservation for us and our kids). My son‘s Pizza was basically swimming in olive oil and the our bottle of red wine was delivered after we had almost finished dinner. We had to order our second bottle of sparkling three times. At least, and this was in fact a nice gesture, some sweets for the desert were give to us free of charge as an excuse, which we gladly accepted. So this was well done. I must say, it will still take a few months at least before I got back. But the attitude especially by the most senior waiter was shockingly below average. I thought after the very difficult times of the pandemic the people should be rather motivated to having finally people and families again going for a fun evening at a restaurant.

Outstanding Italian Restaurant in Old Town

We visited Santa Lucia on our next-to-last night in Zurich. We had walked past it several times while exploring the old town and decided to give it a try. From the outside, it is small and unassuming with several tables along the wall on the Marktgasse. We were delighted to be taken inside and seated by the rear windows which overlook the courtyard and outside patio dining area. Our server was professional and very attentive. Since we arrived early, we had the dining area to ourselves. My wife ordered the prawns on a bed of rice (Risotto Gamberoni.) I asked about the salmon diner which I had seen on Google but it wasn't on the menu. Our server made a phone call and returned with good news. The chef would prepare it for me. It was a salmon filet over asparagus with a side of rice. Both dinners turned out to be excellent. I had a Peroni Birra with my meal and we both has Tortino al cioccola for dessert. An excellent meal, great service, and a beautiful interior that is not visible from the Marktgasse street side!

Great find for a fabulous dinner!

Today upon our arrival in Zurich, my husband and our two traveling companions dined at Santa Lucía . What a fabulous dinner in every way. We dined around 5:00 pm on a Sat evening. At that time, there were not many customers. But as the evening progressed, the restaurant became much more crowded as this is a great place to dine. Our waiter, Tisch-Nr, was delightful! We enjoyed a great bottle of wine, two salads (green and caprese), three different veal dinners (saltimbocca, piccata and Milanese) and a plate of Parma ham. Each veal dish was accompanied by some sort of pasta. The veal and the pastas were all very yummy, perfectly cooked, and presented well. The warm bread served at the table was oven-fresh, warm and quite tasty. My husband’s cappuccino was one of the best. Throughout our dinner, Tisch-Nr provided excellent service. He was cordial, professional, punctual and polite. The restaurant itself was immaculate, including the restrooms! Santa Lucía was a fabulous find that we all enjoyed. It was one of our favorite dinners during our vacation which we have been on for three weeks. Thank you for providing such a fine meal.

Zurich you have been a dream!

This was our first visit to Santa Lucia. It was our 2nd night in this beautiful old town and city of Zurich. We sat at a beautiful table overlooking the garden We ordered pasta And a fragrant fresh Chardonnay Choices were great It's plentiful on the menu Could even choose what type of pasta to accompany your meal choice Opted for spaghetti carbonara and Tagliatelle fruits de mer. Succulent octopus, squid,Prawns,clams and mussels were so tasty and delicious Parmesen. Waran was our waiter He was very friendly,efficient, and very welcoming He kindly gave us petite fours style cake after our meal as no desert. Just a wonderful experience and a perfect ending to our 2 night stay in the most expensive city in the world. Zurich hasn't disappointed!

Great location

We accidentally booked a reservation at one of the other locations but this location was kind enough to seat us. We sat outside and the people watching was great. The lasagna was fantastic but my daughter, who must eat gluten free, had the salmon with veggies and risotto. The meal was fine but very bland. The risotto was black and not the standard white rice. The service was great and food was hot!

A Lovely Sunday Dinner

We had a craving for brick-oven pizza but there were no good restaurants near Zurich HB. So we took the #4 Tram to Rathaus stop and walked a few short minutes to Santa Lucia in the Altstadt district. We got seated right away on Sunday night facing the lovely back courtyard. Our server was very diligent and informative. My wife ordered the basil cheese pizza and I got the delicious tagliatelle alla bolognese with a glass of pino grigio. To top it off we went for the gelato dessert--absolutely delicious! This is our new favorite Italian restaurant with high recommendations.

This was not our first visit to Santa Lucia. We regularly take our friends there for a meal. However this time we were very disappointed by the service. It was late Friday night. The person taking our order was in an irritated mood as though he was tired and wishing that we had not come to the restaurant. He refused to take a partial order. He said he will come back only when all of us had decided. He was not very happy to serve us. We were surprised and embarrassed in front of our friends.

Great homemade pasta

There may be more than one location of this restaurant, but it is far from a US chain. The pasta was all homemade and the bread was served warm and fresh. I’m writing this review a year later and still think fondly about the seafood pasta (my choice) and seafood risotto (my husband’s choice). If you want really good Italian without fuss, this is your place.

Disappointing food but nice service I have been a regular customer (at this restaurant) for 25 years, I have tried every dish, but this time without taste or smell. *Port wine risotto with chicken (no taste at all and the chicken was very dry) * VEAL LIVER (the liver is like a gummy bear, not juicy but very overcooked. - Saffron risotto also with no taste except saffron. P.S.: The menu is not so complicated that you can't make delicious dishes. (The owner should pay the people in the kitchen more so they are motivated to work.) I definitely want to thank the waitress who was very helpful and friendly and of course the shift manager (who canceled the 2x dish). But we definitely left hungry, I hope that won't happen next time.

Fabulous Vegetarian Pizza

This restaurant is wonderful! I had their vegetarian pizza, and it was just a spectacular. Perfectly cooked and perfectly spiced. I had a green salad along with it. The greens were very fresh and crispy and the Italian dressing dressing was the best I’ve ever tasted. Highly recommend!

A Final (Great) Zurich Dining Memory

After finding our targeted restaurant closed we happened upon Santa Lucia and entered from the back to an ok looking dining area, but were quite please after a few steps brought us into the main dining area. We had a window seat overlooking a very pleasant courtyard. Service was quick and impeccable and the menu offerings substantial. We ordered a wonderful wine with an appetizer of prosciutto ham and mozzarella cheese and it was marvelous. My wife had the home made ravioli and I had a veal dish with risotto and both were very well presented and tasted great. A home made desert topped off the meal and we left with a great memory of a wonderful meal in a fabulous settin.

Very Good - Must Go
