Cantinette Antinori really does the magic trick of taking you to Tuscany in the heart of Zürich. They even offer the wonderful Tignanello by the glass and the food is non fussy Italian despite the fancy atmosphere and surroundings.
This is one of the must experience restaurants in Zürich but probably best to save it for a special meal as even a simple pasta meal with wine for two can easily round up to 150-200 francs. Nonetheless definitely worth saving up for, if for that glass of Tignanello.

Very old building tastefully restored means the seating is cozy. The desserts are generous which may be why some diners were coming in later just for dessert. Their tiramisu is very good and big enough for two to share.
Very much a family owned and family friendly establishment. Well worth a visit.

Absolutely great Italian restaurant in the heart of Zurich. Authentic dishes in this bustling trattoria. The wine was perfect the mozzarella appetizer was simple and fresh and the beef main course with porcini mushrooms and risotto was as tasty as I’ve ever had

We really enjoyed ourselves and had a lot of fun doing so. Great service. Staff was very personable, friendly and taking time to engage. We always love it when the serving staff likes to chat it up a bit. It enhances the experience. Ambiance is old world Zurich and is located in old town area. Food was outstanding! I had the beef carpaccio with shaved blacked truffles while my wife had a grilled shrimp starter that they created for her. I had the risotto with shaved black truffles (a theme here as you can tell) while my wife had a veal dish again with truffles. We had some limoncello afterwards. Wine list is all Antinori and we had a Tignanello which was awesome and at a fair price price versus how much it has been at other restaurants on this trip and much less than in California. Only negative comment would be tables are pretty close together. We loved it and absolutely recommend!

Such a bad experience! The table that we reserved was Inside and close to an opened window where you could see the rubbish bin. During our dinner , someone from the stuff started to clean the rubbish bin and all the smell arrived at our table.....
The food was very basic, the pasta not well cooked. The waiter didn’t bring us the wine list.......really not friendly at all.

Friday lunch rain so ate inside was quite busy. Waiter was quick in bringing drinks but than disappeared. The business lunch was not appealing to us so we choose the steak with Porcini that included Risotto. The meat was of high standard and fair portion . The risotto was tasty but the portion was rather a small size. Quite disappointed to get only small bowl of risotto. The mixed grilled fish was good with a side of new potatoes roasted or pan fried rather. Again no complaints about main dishes but one needs at these high prices not be stingy on the sides.
Sone tables I saw got Grissini but we only got bit of bread - not sure why waiter didn’t offer. Service was very slow over 1/2hr get served and the bill took forever

At the table, there are always extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and we usually provide bread or Grissini breadsticks. We are happy to refill the breadbasket or bring Grissini upon request.

Horrible service. Food was good enough for the price (better be, after paying 266 CHF!).
Because we have a lot of Antinori wine at home which we like and love to travel to Italy (actually we’re in Milan in March as well), we decided to dine here. The waiter ignores eye contact when we want something, and we basically were treated like 2nd class citizen. (because I am Asian?)
Maybe he did not consider us as good enough customers because we did not order wine? But he did not even give us wine menu to begin with, when we got there. He was passive aggressive. He was Italian so this is not because we don’t speak German. We have never been treated like this in Italy for the past 20+ years we travelled to Italy.
This was the worst experience of our trip to Zurich. I am regretting that we came here, I would have had much more pleasant experience elsewhere, and would have had the same or better quality food back in Tokyo!!!

The Cantinetta Antinori impresses primarily with its ambience and authentic Italian flair. For us, a visit to Antinori is a must on every visit to Zurich (well over 20 times in the last 30 years). It is a restaurant that is mainly visited by tourists and is centrally located next to Bahnhofstrasse, and is open all day, 7 days a week.
The loud, busy hustle and bustle in the restaurant and the waiters with really good "Schmäh", as they call it in Austria, are brilliant. The selection and quality are good - but with increasing limitations:
The large selection of TOP Italian wines, especially from Antinori and Bindella, is positive. Expensive, but it is unique that you can try so many top wines by the glass.
Unfortunately, the "Solaia" is no longer available by the glass, which is probably due to the extremely high wine prices.
Negative: The glass culture unfortunately leaves a lot to be desired, because cheap, thick-walled catering glasses are used. Wines of this (price and local) class would have deserved a contemporary presentation in Riedel, Gabriel, Spiegelau, Zalto, Marienglas,...etc - but above all in thin-walled(!) glasses.
Positive: The wine advice was competent and a tasting sip with the option to cancel was also offered for the open wines.
Negative: The bruschetta (see photo) was totally disappointing this time, which was prepared very carelessly with not(!) toasted white bread and is therefore absolutely not recommended. When I asked the waiter whether I actually only know bruschetta on toasted white bread (incidentally also described on the menu as "toasted slices of bread"), he said that they were always offering new variations. I think it's more likely that an assistant chef forgot to toast the bread.
The "Verdura alla Griglia - lukewarm, grilled vegetables" was also disappointing both visually and in terms of taste.
Positive: Excellent - as always - were the homemade pasta with fresh black truffles, which were shaved on top in good quantities. The truffles can be reordered for an additional charge, which was specifically pointed out, which is OK.
The lemon cake for dessert was absolutely OK.
We will probably come back, but unfortunately - despite price increases - we have noticed a significant drop in quality compared to the times before Corona.

We were recently recommended to this restaurant and cannot rate it highly enough. We went for dinner 3 nights in a row as other places we’d tried were lacking.
Enjoyed the Veal limone served with perfect spaghetti noodles on the side, needed nothing else. The perfect lemon sauce , meunière was enough. Followed with a delicious panne cotta.
Wines from the Antinori vineyard are delectable and reasonably priced. Whereas nothing in Zurich is cheap or reasonable.
Bookings not essential but worth doing for a better table. Enjoy!

While visiting Zurich on a very rainy day this month with my husband and daughter, we decided to have lunch at this restaurant. My daughter (aged 23) asked for a table; i was standing by the entrance. the restaurant was half empty. She was refused and the waiter said it was fully booked. 5 seconds after that while I was still standing by the entrance, I noticed 3 people entered and had not booked but were offered a table simply because they were dressed smartly while we were dressed surely poorly! This pure discrimination and I would not recommend this restaurant at all!!very arrogant waiter who may have forgotten the basics !!!!! When I started to mention that he was acting badly and this was discrimination… all of sudden his memory had had a refresh and he found a table…. I decided not to stay!! Poor waiter and poor restaurant !

I had an amazing dinner at Cantinetta Antinori on a recent trip to Zurich. Hands down, the best meal I had in Zurich or across Switzerland on this trip. I wasn’t able to book on their website as it was last minute, but luckily the hotel concierge was able yo secure a table.
I arrived late on a Saturday evening and the dining rooms upstairs and downstairs were full! The maitre d’ was able to find me a great table with a view of the r on - key for a solo diner.
Excellent, efficient friendly service. All the staff were Italian and were speaking Italian to many of the guests.
Food was excellent. Penne arrabiata was both hot (temp) as well as hot (spicy). The starter was followed with what was probably the best grilled veal chop I have ever had!
Great wine list, with excellent options by the glass, all reasonably priced. Evening capped off with the best duo of white and milk chocolate mousse I can remember! (and I’ve had the pleasure of having lots of great mousses!)

We were walking around on a busy Saturday afternoon looking for a place to have a drink, and came across Cantinetta Antinoni. We didn't plan to eat but after seeing the menu decided to have a meal. What a great decision! We had a very a very engaging waiter who helped us with the menu, and provided quick and efficient service. I had sea bass and my partner had ravioli with ricotta and marjoram, both excellently prepared. Dessert was equally delicious, tiramisu. Many choices of wine by the glass. As this was our last night in Zurich, we will have to wait for our return to visit again.

Shocking bad…. Where to start?!
The food is horrendous, it has nothing of Gura any and even something as simple as a bit of pasta was out of a packet and dry and tasteless. All else was possibly worse.
At Cantinetta Antinori you expect a good wine list, right? Out of the already rather limited wine list, they could offer 4 horrendous wines only.
The tables are the tiniest ever and it is impossible to have a conversation,
If I try hard to find a positive, I guess the service was friendly, although not exactly silver service or highly professional.
Never ever again…. Waste of time and money and ended up going to bed hungry!

Very friendly service with good food and Zurich prices.
During lunchtime they offer „cheaper“ combined menus including a starter and a main course.
The espresso is great and comes with a nice biscuit.
