The pizza at Azzurro was very well prepared, with an excellent crust (think slightly soggy thin cracker crust), flavorful tomato sauce and cheese and quality toppings. The menu is light on appetizers and items other than pizza, but you come here for the pizza anyway! And "come here" is worth noting as it is not exactly centrally located near the hotels but rather in a quite residential (even moderately industrial) location. The service was also a little rough around the edges, with unprofessional (meaning not rude but rather just not career) servers who lack that extra display of solicitousness and gratitude that make service a quality experience - really it was quite perfunctory. For example, while tending to you, the staff was generally looking everywhere but at you and trying to see if anything was needed at the other tables - fine, just poor beside manner.

One of the best pizzerias in Zurich

Ettore, the owner, is a great host: he is very funny and entertaining. He explained to me and to my friends ( we are also Italians) how he makes his special pizza (no yeast) and how he cares about the products he chooses for his kitchen. The pizza is super large (but very thin) and not greasy as many other pizzas I had in Zurich. We sat out side, the atmosphere is very relaxed and super chilled. The indoor restaurants is also very cozy. One more thing: Ettore puts a fresh mini mozzarella on top of every pizza he serves...Just to make the difference and it really does! Bravo, I will come back for sure!

I ordered a pizza with salsiccia, onion, and Gorgonzola. When it arrived, I was mesmerized by the delicate crust adorned with the perfect ratio of each of the three previous desired additives. Upon my first bite it become clear; It was, In fact, the best pizza I’ve had in my entire life. 10/10. Phenomenal.

Disappointed and expensive

Very slow and unfriendly service. Ordered focaccia bread but got dry pizza bread and no olive oil to dip. Pizza was nice. However with drinks meal came to 126 chf for 2.

Good pizza - bad wine list

Excellent pizza with thin dough and a rich topping. However, the pizza is also quite expensive for a restaurant in the outskirts of Zurich. I would have turned a blind eye to the price if the service hadn't been abysmally bad (long wait, wrong wine brought, unfriendly). The wine list is also extremely small and unprofessional. Conclusion: You only come here for a quick pizza. Very loud restaurant.

The athmosphere is genuine italian. Simple and familiar. The pizzas are very good. Probaly the thinnest in Zürich. Personally I prefer the pizza a bit thicker. These are huge but taste more like flamkuchen. Weine list is fine. Non-alkoholic alternative is weak and they only have one kind of beer. Italian of course and so does it taste...

Worst italian food one can think of

Lazy surroundings, crowded inside atmosphere, totally horrible kitchen. Pasta - something you can cook (and undercook) at home with a random pasta sauce. Pizza - melange of tastlesness. Bruschetta - something that you burn and don't want to throw away.

Delicious pizza, delicious dessert - you feel a bit like you're in a restaurant/pizzeria in Italy. Very tasty, large pizza, relatively thin base (I prefer pizza with a slightly thinner base). They have a really large pizza (so make sure you're hungry enough ;-)

Azzurro make the best pizzas in town. Fact! Me and my friends come here almost weekly and it’s a highlight - delicious food, friendly staff, great ambience, amazing in the summer under the huge umbrellas, giant TVs for the football when on - it’s like being in Italy! Great for couples or big groups alike. Molto buono!

The service is outstanding. Genuine Italian and family run. I come here every Friday and firmly believe that here one finds the the best pizza in town. I have never tried the specials but my Italian friend said they were excellent.

WOW!! That’s how I feel about Azzurro Pizzeria. I have eaten a lot of pizza though out my life, but I’ve never had one as tasty as the one I had at Azzurro. From the friendly service to the generous portions, Azzurro is second to none in my opinion. It is a great place to take the family or just go and have a great time with friends.
