One of Zurich's VERY BEST restaurants

I recently dined with my wife at il Tartufo. It was her first time and my 10th. I was so excited to share one of my favorite restaurants with her and I'm happy to report that our expectations were exceeded! We agreed that the buratta appetizer was the very best thing we ate on our 3 week gastronomical tour of some of Europe's best cities. The tagliarini with white truffles was sublime and the basil gelatto was surprisingly amazing. The restaurant has been nicely updated and feels fresh and modern. The menu too feels much more current and creative. A trip to Zurich would not be complete without a visit to il Tartufo.

The best restaurant in Zurich so far with original Italian cuisine and friendly atmosphere. High-quality ingredients, complex flavors in a sophisticated form. We will come back for sure.

Excellent food and service

A wonderful business dinner in a traditional setting. Generous servings with a large and delicious complimentary amuse bouche. Very interesting menu with an extensive wine list. Not cheap but reasonable for Zurich.

Arrogant Chef de Service

We made an reservation of 20.00 and my wife got an asthma attack at 19.00 we have to go hospital , i have called the restaurant that we cant come because of my wife , the owner or the chef de service told me what a shame and started to attack me . These people are just for business and money there , forget to go there . If a person lost his humanity dont eat any food there will bring your life energy down .

The restaurant didn't meet my expectations. As soon as we step in, we felt unwelcome by the three service employees, they basically showed us our table with the fingers and we were not even asked for an aperitif. The Food was fine but without a wow effect. The Service was not professional at all. Additionally, the menu in English was wrongly translated from German, as an example Skrei Fisch, would mean Codfish and not Shellfish (Krustentier) and a Skrei can only be named if it comes from Norway and is only fished between January and April, therefore I doubt that it was that fish that we ate as we are in November, for me this is a no go. Come Once, Never Again.

....with very good food. Very expensive but as well a very good service. I realized pretty quick that the employees more or less where greek. As I love Greek food I asked why they do not serve Greek food. A good reaction of the owner, next time when you come you give me a call 1 or 2 days before and you tell me what you want. Guess that's a deal! Nevertheless, I personally believe the restaurant is a little too expensive, we spend more than 200 CHF/person

A true Gem

We went to Il Tartufo for dinner - as Zurich has a few Italian restaurants - il Tartufo has to be one of the best with a combination of great quality, fabulous service and a charming owner The wines, truffle pasta ( home made pasta) and the Porcini mushrooms and veal chops ( the specials) were outstanding A must try

Worthy of Michelin Star Designation

We found this gem of a restaurant quite by accident. It is located in a mainly residential area with a non-assuming facade. What we found inside took our breaths away. The staff was very friendly, welcoming and open. They were so attentive they made us feel we were the only customers there. The decor is understated but classy and chic. The tables are arranged to optimize space and decorated very well, and the restaurant doesn't feel cramped or stuffy. The true value of this establishment is, however, the food. The amuse-bouche (the single bite-sized hors d'oeuvre) was the tastiest I've EVER had with a silky texture and loads of taste. The appetizers were presented beautifully and they were to die for. As soon as they were placed in front of us our senses began to go into overdrive. The mains took the experience to another level. The black truffle pasta was the best I've had in my life. I'm not exaggerating here; it was truly fantastic. The accompanying steak was done perfectly and it was yummy. The wine and Champagne selection is first rate and the desserts are just the icing on the cake. In all my years of life and culinary experience, I have never been to a restaurant more worthy of receiving a (or two) Michelin star like Il Tartufo. Hopefully the Micheline Guide people will read this, take a look for themselves and reward excellence.

I have never had a bad meal there. Staff is excellent. Food is good. There are some reasonably priced wines and good truffle ideas. Always a good choice!

had a business lunch at this place after approx 8 yrs as used to work in vicinity. The place has been updated and the food is perfect in every sense. the noodles with truffel and after the filets were just great - be back soon

Amazing food and service

I visited this place for the first time and had an amazing dinner. The ossobuco with polenta was the best I've ever had and the service was great as well. The wine list is also very nice with fair prices and great options. It is definitely a must visit place in Zurich!

Great business lunch place

We were a group of 8 meeting for business and had about 90 minutes for lunch. Food was very good and the service was excellent. I had the Osso Buco and I loved the fact that they managed to have the bone marrow served as part of the dish. My colleagues had other dishes and all of them looked excellent. Everyone liked what they had.

If you like truffle, this is your spot

Very nice and elegant restaurant. Waiters are educated and well trained. Menu is classic italien and truffle offers good. Even the desert was great. Good place to impress your friends! Or have just a romantic dinner.

Why the cover charge??

Food good, service very good, relatively expensive. Very surprised with the cover charge per person for a restaurant of this category. Gives a cheap flair. Unheard of in upper end restaurants in Zurich.
