The Heugümper restaurant opened in 1996 in one of the oldest buildings in the city. In a central location between Paradeplatz and Münsterhof, in the heart of Zurich, we will spoil you in a classic, modern ambience with market-fresh, Mediterranean-Asian cuisine and exquisite wines. Thanks to our warm service, you will also feel completely at home at family celebrations, company events and weddings! Our elegant club bar on the upper floor is also available for this purpose.

Breath of fresh air in touristic neighbourhood

If somebody was to do some research on the perfect restaurant size, this would be it; not to small, not too big, perfect. It is also a very pleasantly decorated space with minimum fuss and maximum stylishness, tall ceilings and a fresh modern feel. The menu fits on one page, but still offers great variety. The asian touch really lifts the dishes, but the italian origins are also comforting. We loved the gazpacho and zander ceviche with ponzu! As if that wasn’t enough, the service was über-friendly and attentive, none of the grumpiness otherwise so common in restaurants in this area - very refreshing!

Good food, slightly slow service

Very enjoyable team meal here - had previously attended for a solo dinner, and was impressed by the quality of the produce. Once again, the food was exceptional in quality and there was a wide variety of options for people to choose from. Disappointingly, the service was on the slow side (we had pre-booked a large table, so it wasn't a surprise that we would be attending). Would still go back - and would happily recommend it to others in Zurich.

Simply sumptuous!

From the very minute you are greeted by the effortlessly elegant hostess to the final nibble, you are going to cherish every moment of your dining experience! The warmth and enthusiasm radiates by the staff is infectious. And it is easy to see why. They take rightful pride in everything they do. We were advised to try the refreshingly rare creation of the rhubarb chilli soup with shrimp as a starter - out of this world! And then we moved on to the seared tuna as a main. All pared with a lovely Swiss white wine. The ambiance of the sleek modern interior is also very welcoming. In short: my new favourite go to in Zurich!

Exceptional Service and Food in a Lovely Outdoor Setting

Our first dinner in Zurich and we couldn't have been more pleased! We were strolling the cobblestone streets and came upon a village square with beautiful outdoor tables at Heugumper Restaurant. The hostess (who turned out to be the owner) welcomed us despite not having a reservation, and she continued to treat us like her special guests - she gave great wine recommendations, and even brought us an extra appetizer of seared tuna in between courses - everything was delicious! We tried the beef carpaccio, veal cordon bleu, and veal filet in a mushroom and herb sauce. Thank you, Pamela, for making our evening so enjoyable!

Zurich perfection and coolness

With her small team Pam Angst runs this comparatively small historic restaurant in the heart of Zurich with lots of contagious positive energy and brio. While the place stands for tradition, the food is refreshingly modern. The surf & turf that I ordered was absolutely excellent. Served with a warm smile and a pleasantly uncomplicated manner, it all made for a great experience. A big thank you to Pam and her team!

A beautiful evening

Great food, great service, prices for the food are OK, but the wines are almost too expensive. Do red wines have to cost CHF 70 and more? Do they really need to be three times more expensive than the retail price? In my opinion, this is no longer fair, even for Zurich. Nevertheless, the friendly service and the super food definitely deserve 4 points and the recommendation to spend an evening at Heugümper! It tastes good with beer too😊

Really delightful!

We were very lucky getting the last available table on the day of our arrival in Zurich ... and enjoyed the evening very much. The food was really delightful. Well presented and very tasty. The owner and her staff was very professional and nice to work with. A nice wine list completed the experience. Although the first time for us ... certainly not the last time when we return next year.

Whoever wants to enjoy fine cuisine, whoever wants to follow excellent wine recommendations, whoever appreciates attentive service and everything in - despite Corona - a pleasant atmosphere, the Heugümper is the right place to go! I have been a guest for years - and with good reason!

Excellent local food and a superb host

We walked in for dinner after seeing the long line at the Zeughauskeller. Even though the intimate restaurant was packed, the gracious host made us a table and we were immediately seated. We had the Geschnetzeltes and the Hirschschnitzel which were both delicious. Our combination of appetizers, wine, and dessert couldn't have been any better. We will definitely come back on our next Zurich trip!

Simple Lunch

ON a very hot day. Tasty gaspacho followed by a very spicey classic beef tartare. Both were very good, my business partner had a plate of lentils. Two waters and Total bill of 100 not cheap. Cozy interior and excellent friendly service. Right in the center of the old town.

Me and my family didn't know the restaurant until some of our friends showed it to us. We looked up the name on google and found great reviews and we really were thrilled to dine. When we arrived we were surprised by the beautiful interior, it was renovated and there really is a sense of coziness. And then, after difficulties with the waitress handing out different menues where some dishes weren't on some others, we ordered our food. I ordered an appetiser, pasta with truffles. I truly was excited about it but it arrived i was deceived. There was a small amount of truffles and the pasta as a whole just felt bland and tasteless. Then I ordered my chicken i was ok but for the price we paid it was deceiving. And the prices as a whole just didn't match the food quality and service was very unpersonal and didn't really pay attention wich is quite contrary to what you would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. The overall experience I had with this restaurant wasn't up too match to my expectations and if you are looking for fine dining experience I strongly recommend another restaurant.
