High end place. Atmosphere was really top notch. The waitstaff were knowledgeable and attentive. The food was very good worthy of a Michelin rating imho. A very enjoyable evening. The chef was very innovative with the standards like pasta and fish. Got to try this....A bit pricey, but worth itMore

2 different concierges at luxury hotels recommended this restaurant. We have been there 3 times. The pasta and fish dishes are worth every euro. Try the risotto with burrata and herbs!

This restaurant was suggested by our hotel when we asked for a restaurant with good seafood. It did not disappoint. The interior is gorgeous but we choose to eat outside because of Covid. We shared the risotto with Mediterranean herbs primi which was outstanding. We...both had monkfish wrapped in nori, Which was served with Swiss chard. It was perfectly cooked and flavorful. We drank a reasonably priced and excellent bottle of vermintino. We choose not to have desserts but we received a bowl with complementary chocolates coated in coconut. Service was attentive and the timing between dishes was excellent. Overall this was a great meal. I noted on TripAdvisor that it was not rated as highly as we believe it should be, but that may be because of the price. By Italian standards, it was not inexpensive at about €75 per person with one shared appetizer appetizer and fish dish for each of us, as well as a very nice bottle of wine. The price is seems a little high but when we compare it to a similar restaurant in San Francisco, once you add taxes and tip in the US, the prices were quite reasonable. I would recommend this restaurant anytime.More

We visit Florence frequently and Cestello is a constant favourite- it never disappoints!! The staff are amazing- professional, friendly and a pleasure to witness the way they enjoy their food presentations!! Also Amelia on the door is getting more glamorous each time we return!! We...asked for a specific wine snd Prosecco snd the manager offered some trials of samples to get to what we liked - a real service touch you don’t find elsewhere and a fabulous seafood counter to choose your fish!! The food is amazing and despite the menu we ask for our favourites which are accommodated and wonderful- I had a seafood linguine and my friend had red prawn linguine - it was historic as ever with many additional dishes offered throughout. The final desert treats offered are always a fabulous touch!! We love this restaurantMore

I originally asked my hotel concierge to book us a table at Borgo San Jacopo but he insisted that this spot was much better despite not having a Michelin star. I wish I would have stuck to my original choice and not let the concierge...sway me here. If you are looking for a nice dinner in Florence definitely stay away from this place. Service was pretty bad and a bit chaotic. They took 30 min between each plate served, the server walked us over to their “fish market” and after feeling pressured we ordered a total of 6 steamed prawns that ended up being $138 euros and they were close to nasty. I will be letting our concierge know about this experience and I can’t believe there’s so many good reviews after our experience. Food is not worth it at all, we feel pretty stolen from our money. I hope tonight we can have a nicer experience elsewhere.More

This was a recommendation and it didn’t disappoint Everything about this restaurant excelled The freshness of all the fish , the best bread, the ability to say what you fancy and this to be magically interpreted and a taste sensation created. Pasta to die for...and sushmi that was the best I’ve ever had. Prepare to be impressed and take a gastronomic journey into heaven!More

Having eaten in this restaurant when in Florence 2 years ago it was top of the list for a return visit. We managed to secure a last minute booking for a Saturday evening which was a surprise but we attributed to our amazing concierge. A...further surprise when we arrived was only two tables in the outside seating are were occupied. This increased during the evening a little but the atmosphere and buzz of a very popular restaurant I remembered from before just wasn't there. The menu that had been only in Italian now has some English translation, probably as a result of some of the negative feedback on TripAdvisor. One of the special things about the restaurant was the lack of English and the opportunity to visit their fish market to choose your fish. But I can understand their wish to cater for the tourists. The food was very good, fabulous sashimi selection with an unusual passion fruit coulis that worked really well. Red prawn linguine and a mixed seafood version were as good as we remembered with an unusual selection of breads alongside. Great quality food together with several glasses of prosecco was a little over 200 euros, not cheap but quality seafood never is and this is Florence!More
