Alle Corone is set in the elegant Hotel Ai Reali where we stayed for a couple of nights. To celebrate my birthday we booked a table in the restaurant as it gets very good ratings on Tripadvisor. And rightly so! We had a table at the window, overlooking the small canal with gondolas passing by. The service was very good... More

I am one of those lurkers that researches and reads tons of reviews before I pick a place, and I am glad it paid off with this pick. My wife and I were on our honeymoon last week and wanted to make sure we went out for some fine dining at least once. We were very please with the entire... More

Went here because it was highly rated on Tripadvisor. Although the food was nice it wasn't exceptional for the price. The service was very good. For me the biggest disappointment was the complete lack of atmosphere! Small clinical restaurant without any buzz typical of a happy good food establishment. Went once and quickly decided we had had much better elsewhere.

Enjoyed the tasting menu at Alle Corone on our last evening in Venice, with particular highlights being the ricotta ravioli and the pigeon. Restaurant itself is a little cramped, but nothing unpleasant. Service was initially good, but at the time to pay the bill there was no-one in sight, and to get out eventually took the better part of 30... More

Stayed here for my 50th birthday and had the tasting menu. 7 courses of the most amazing food with 4 different wines. All finished off with a Tiramisu birthday cake as a surprise. Service was excellent

Overall, a good restaurant. The food was good - fresh ingredients, good presentation, right size portions. The ambiance was nice. Price-wise I felt like anywhere in Venice the tourist tax was included. The service was ok. The waiters and staff were friendly, however we felt their efficiency could be improved - at times there were 5 of them around checking... More

Possibly 2 of the best seafood dishes I've had in Venice. Some really unique tastes. Probably a little pricey but that was expected. They gave us some a complimentary starter and dessert which were appreciated.

Three of us booked this place for a birthday meal. It was very good. We opted for the tasting menu - six courses. They prepped a special menu for me - gluten free. The food was first rate - very very good. The service was good too - friendly staff. We started with cocktails, which were terrific. Bill was 350... More

We chose lunch over dinner. It was by far the best meal we had during our 4 day stay in Venice. The restaurant is in a very high end, out-of-the-way boutique hotel. The lunch service was perfect and the food absolutely delicious. We didn't mind paying up a little. I'm sure they serve a glorious dinner, too. The restaurant is... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
