Small, cosy restaurant with an excellent/friendly staff and delicious food. Definitely worth going there and try the Venetian specialities: black pasta with cuttlefish, and veal liver venetian style.

We felt like we found a real gem with this restaurant! It is small so we booked and the food was so amazing on the first night that we booked again for the following nights. Our favourites included the goats cheese salad, pumpkin soufflé, spaghetti with clams and pig cheeks (don't knock them til you've tried them!) Our waitress was... More

Had the fixed menu of an appetiser and a main. Food was lovely, the appetiser of octopus, sardines and bacalau was a standout. Stuffed squids and liver with figs were also excellent. Great salad. Lots of wines by the glass. Love to go back and have the cichetti.

We to k this place being convinced by trip advisor notes It was simply great. All the dishes are nicely served and they taste great. We overall had an impression that the further from the center the better we ate. Our highest recommendation !!

This is a tiny osteria, so you need to book. The food was really good - a bit different, beautifully presented and excellent quality. Also good value for money, I particularly recommend the stuffed squid. I would definitely return here.

This is Venice's secret. A small restaurant, a bit far from the centre and St Marc's square but the food is amazing, the best I have had in venice (i even went to fine dining) and at very reasonable prices. The restaurant has literally 6 tables, 2 seats each, so be prepared that you might need to wait a bit.... More

Had a little issue finding this tiny restaurant but for certain completely worth the effort. Everything we had here was fresh and tasted beyond words incredible. I began with the tuna tartar then had the pumpkin gnocchi followed by the chocolate raspberry cake. The pumpkin gnocchi maybe the best pasta dish I have even eaten. Truly a memorable evening. Go... Cozy place tucked away from all the tourists. Super friendly waitress, great recommendations/wine from her region (very funny also). Thanks for a great evening and some interesting food.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
