Stumbled across this spot at 10pm on a Friday and got right in although the place was packed. So glad we got to try it! Absolutely loved everything we tried: Negronis to start, cheese plate, black pasta with seafood sauce, create your own salad. (Good salad! In Italy! We had been craving it for days.) Finished with spectacular tiramisu. The... More

Excellent food, very creative and beautifully decorated dishes, great service, very friendly staff, the manager even shook our hand and thanked us himself as we left the restaurant, would definitely go back.

Situated away from the glitz of the grand canal, we're glad we took the time to find this place. We had a fantastic meal that we found excellent value (<€100 for aperitif, starter platter, two pasta dishes and shared main plus wine and coffee). Would highly recommend - the food was great and the service was friendly and helpful and... More

Cozy restaurant with nice wait staff. Prices were high since portions were very small. Had bean soup which was good. Had linguine with clams...this portion was ridiculously small since the clams are mini sized but tasted good. Only had ten mini clams and with a small portion of pasta...not much to eat. Husband had the pork. It was good but... More

Came across this place which was very near our apartment in Venice and it was ranked very highly on Tripadvisor. We ordered the Sedanini all’amatriciana of shrimps (flavor is there but find that the pasta is a little too chewy for us), the suckling pig with apples and potatoes purée (soft and tender, purée is good but skin lacks crispness)... They are so creative in their meals. The cape see salad had extras that so added to the flavored. My sole with eggplant was super tasty, as was my wife's sea bream dinner. They fit us in on a busy night. Urge you to try it out

We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident and we were very pleasantly surprised. The decor is very modern and simple and the service was quick and friendly. We had spaghetti with clams and a spaghetti seafood carbonara - both were absolutely delicious and considering the price €12 and €15 fantastic value for money. I also had, hands down, the best... We stumbled on this little gem by accident. We can strongly recommend this for traditional Italian cuisine in modern surroundings. Spaghetti Seafood Carbonara was an adventurous choice which proved superb!

We trusted reviews and put this place at the top of our list, and we were NOT disappointed! It was the best meal we had in Venice... I admit I was dubious at first -- it's a tiny place (easy to miss on the street) and seemed more like a modern bar/cafe where one might just stop for a drink.... More

We had lunch. Our starter of mixed fish was spectacular both in appearance and taste. However my wife's grilled chicken was dry and although the accompanying vegetables looked good the aubergine was tough and tasteless. Meanwhile I had swordfish which was pretty good but again was unable to eat the aubergine. We both drank water but I also had a... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
