We trusted reviews and put this place at the top of our list, and we were NOT disappointed! It was the best meal we had in Venice... I admit I was dubious at first -- it's a tiny place (easy to miss on the street) and seemed more like a modern bar/cafe where one might just stop for a drink.... More

We had lunch. Our starter of mixed fish was spectacular both in appearance and taste. However my wife's grilled chicken was dry and although the accompanying vegetables looked good the aubergine was tough and tasteless. Meanwhile I had swordfish which was pretty good but again was unable to eat the aubergine. We both drank water but I also had a... More

Kind of hard to find the place as everything in Venice is not properly labeled and maps are not detailed (in our case) but once you find the place the atmosphere, food, and people that eat there you would be well satisfied. Majority of people eating there were Italians so that alone tells you something about the quality of the... More

After some underwhelming food in Venice we hoped this modern restaurant would be what we were looking for. Our meat and cheese starter was lovey and our mains of duck and pork were very nice. I'm just not a huge fan of mash! Apart from that it was very nice and our favourite meal in Venice. Venice definitely needs more... More

This cafe is hip, air-conditioned and has delicious croissants and coffee! We wanted a flat white so fumbled our way with the following explanation. 2 espresso shots and same amount of milk and got what we wanted! So delicious! This place has nice toilet too which is also a bonus!

After looking on TripAdvisor for a good restaurant for our last night in Venice, we decided to stop in that modern restaurant. The service was good (our server spoke French, English and Italian), and the meals were tasty! We loved them! Except that the fried calamari and shrimp needed maybe a sauce on the side, and different veggies than carrots... More

It was so delightful when we have found this restaraunt with really good and special meals prepared on a really high professional level! Exceptional choice of vines at glass and good service! After all this bad turistic restaurants with some bad food in Venice, This delicious and cozy restaurant was real pleasure for the palate!!! Highly recommended!!!!

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
