Starter was lovely...chef's mixed seafood stater, however main for me (pork, was bland and dry)...didn't stop my husband polishing off what I didn't eat in addition to his own seabass! Washed down with a bottle of Chianti Classico. Then...husband had crespelle with fruit and icecream, while I had a bit more glamorous yoghurt, strawberries and zabaglioni/eggnog. Followed by shots of... More

Excellent, friendly service. Always happy to give advice on food choices. We booked and glad we did as is a small venue. Food was fantastic although not massive portions but this was made up for in taste. Our waitress was Raisa and she was so lovely and could not do enough. She made our experience all the more enjoyable. Definitely... More

Our appetizer was phenomenal, but the entrees were not nearly as good as they sounded on the menu. My wife's thin, fried chicken breast probably should have been on a kids menu. Service was great.

Having seen the reviews on Tripadviser I was keen to try it for myself. The restaurant has a very modern style. It is a popular place and the tables are a bit squeezed in. The service was friendly and efficient. The food is beautifully presented, which gets you really excited to try the dish, but the taste did not quite... More

Good restaurant-recommended by many (including TripAdvisor). Prices are comparable to nearby restaurants. Recommend a reservation, especially for more than 2 people. Tuna and beef tartar starters were very good. Fried calamari with tempura vegetables was ok. First courses were more successful than second courses. Pasta dishes were consistently very good. The roast suckling pig was just average as was the... More

Ate here on our first night in Venice as it was only 2 minutes from our hotel. I always check Tripadvisor before I travel and spotted this high scoring restaurant. Inside is bright with a modern feel and the staff were more than welcoming. I would recommend booking as we did as the place filled quickly and I believe booking... More

I must first say this: The absolute BEST TIRAMISU we had during our entire 10-day trip to Italy was at Impronta Cafe! Now for the rest of my review ... We ate at Impronta Cafe because I read great reviews online before our trip and also because our hotel (Palazzo Odoni) recommended it. Our dinner was delicious. My husband ate... More

A very modern cafe in a busy location. We were comfortably tucked into a corner for two. The service was prompt, courteous and friendly. They offferedmenus in different languages. We ordered the lamb ribs ( small -3 ) done a beautiful medium/rare, covered with almonds. Accompanied with puréed aubergine (eggplant) covered in miniature pansies and a side of roasted artichoke.... Over several visits, I've used this bar for coffee in the morning and wine later in the day, and I find the atmosphere friendly and lively. The staff are attentive and efficient. On a lighter note the glasses for the wine are amusingly large, but the measures are standard. The wine is good quality and the prices are typical of... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
