When I arrived one evening without a reservation, the place was less than half full, so I was seated without issue. I dined solo and sort of felt like an oddity among the mostly couples. But the staff were competent and kind for the most...More

We found it by wandering through Venice streets. A less crowded and more relaxed atmosphere was great. Food very good, prices reasonable. I recommend.

Pane Vino e San Daniele has been one of our Venetian favourites for some time now and usually delivers flawless performance - as it nearly did this time. My “tagliata di manzo” main course was a lovely piece of meat but it was cooked in...More

Nice restaurant in a lovely Piazzale. Good outside space. Very small portions of very ordinary pasta. Mine was a lasagne that was not hot and not cold.... I don’t think anyones Nona would serve it like that. The salad was awful, uninspired and not fresh...More

Dear clmcd2018 we thank you for your review as a demostration that there is space for everybody in this world. Small portions are subjective, we suppose if you go to a restaurant you want to have a real meal, otherwise you would have chosen a...More

This was a classic Italian trattoria. Nice atmosphere, good service. The food was traditional and well executed. The staff was very accommodating.

After 14 years with the name “Pane Vino e San Daniele”, we have decided to go back to the original name of this historic restaurant. This magical “campo”, off the beaten tracks of tourism has always enchanted Venetians and tourists as it's a privileged corner of the city. While retaining our current identity, we also want to make the most of the traditions of those who were born and grew up in this square and get our foreign guests to experience and enjoy the beauty of this open air Venetian theatre. We will continue serving our unmistakable San Daniele cured raw ham (prosciutto), together with Venetian, Friulian and Sardinian specialities and creating new dishes with many other top quality Italian ingredients. And last but not least have a look at our new wine list. You will find many well known brands, but also many new wines to discover. We will be happy to help you choose the right wine according to your taste and your meal.
