We visited for a drink when passing, the drinks were good, although we thought the beer was pretty pricey at 7.50 Euro for a small beer, but the cocktails were reasonable, the food looked good & there was a good vibe in there.

After reading so much about this place we had to go once we were in Rialto. It's perfect to take a break during the day or to start the night with some cicchetti! You get really good food and wine for really good prices. The service was very kind to all guests as well!

Tucked away down an alleyway in the San Polo district, about 5 minutes’ walk from the Rialto Bridge, is this little gem. We walked past it twice before we found it because there is no sign outside, only a hand-written piece of paper on the door showing the name and opening times. Marco (I am assuming he is the owner)... More

Beautiful quality of food and service. It's very reasonable but the food is cooked to perfection. Great regional wine list that represents the area.... fun place, not touristic and has an honest real vibe that's local, which you can see by the following of people that are served on their way to and from work. Very wonderful place. GO!

Very lovely little wine bar so busy it was over flowing with costumers! A extensive and delicious canapé selection all made their in front of you. However the staff service locals above anyone else waiting in the long line.

Simple traditional Italian mini osteria. Few tables and a lot of people tend to stand outside. The drinks are cheaper than to be expected so close to the Rialto Bridge. The appetisers are brilliant. Freshly cooked prawns in batter, rice balls in a crispy bread crumb coat, cod in batter and meat balls to a traditional Venitian recipe. Nothing to... More

Like a boat, good place for have a good glass of Valpolicella wine, a typical Veneto red wine. They serve some "cicchetti" that is like tapas in Spain. Small quantity of several food and you can choise meat fish or vegetable cicchetti. I recommend for an aperitif and to drink some wine (I suggest Valpolicella DOC or Valpolicella Ripasso)

We visited Osteria Alla Ciurma everyday of our holiday. It gets very busy for the few hours that it is open and at first, it can be quite daunting trying to fit in amongst the locals. Just walk up to the counter when a space becomes available and order a drink and point to what cicchetti you fancy. Our favourites... More

We stopped in here from breakfast. The Cichetti is amazing and really well priced, especially considering the area and its popularity. The lady that served us was super friendly and helpful. I couldn't recommend this place enough, especially if you wanted to try Cichetti! P.s Prosecco is only €2.50 a glass!

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
