I visited the restaurant at Gran Via on Saturday, 22 Feb 2020 and the place was lovely. It was designed to be like a botanical garden and was so pleasant.
The food is asian infusion theme and I tried yakisoba but I was so surprised...to taste it as it tasted 99% similar to indonesian instant noodle (brand:indomie). I can tell for sure as I’m Indonesian and have been eating instant noodle for 33 years so I can recognise the taste and texture.
I asked the chef through the waitress but she only cameback replying that they ordered the noodle from Asia in bulk. I pressed to see if they are using instant noodle but the waitress was adamant they are not.
If you are planning to visit this place, go check the yakisoba menu and taste it! or even better, bring your cooked indomie noodle to compare it on site!More
Great place for a drink, whether tea, coffee or alcoholic. They have some healthy offerings as well. I had a veggie burger. We drank lots of wine, but there are plenty of other options. The heated garden is a great place to be able to...be outdoors during the winter.More
Yes, it's a cute restaurant space and it feels like a "find" because you have to hunt for it on the third floor of an upscale luggage and handbag store. But the food, service and drinks left a lot to be desired.
We were there...for brunch on a Saturday and although their menu contains a la carte items, they apparently won't let you order them on weekends. They required us to order from the short, prixe-fixe menu of three courses (about 18 euro). There was a long wait for our bloody marys, and they arrived with the first course of food - Spanish custom? Not that I'm aware of.
The bloody marys were thin, watery and bland. The food was nicely presented but nothing special, considering the price.More
The restaurant is hidden downstairs of a handbag store so do not be fooled!
Downstairs is a hidden oasis of beautiful plants and ambiance. The drink menu is full of quirky cute options that are equally delicious and instagramable! We shared the sangria pitcher and...I got a delicious sandwich.More
The location is absolutely stunning. Set on a rooftop, you are immersed amongst beautiful plants and decor which creates a lovely environment.
The service was considerably slow and it took some time to be acknowledged by the staff. We tried to order the High Tea...but were told they were not serving it - this was not addressed on the menu. We ordered dessert which was delicious but the portion sizes were tiny compared to the expensive price. Nonetheless, the presentation of the food was gorgeous.
Overall, the environment is wonderful but may be a preferable location for drinks only rather than food.More
While the place looks good, the food is appaling and utterly disgusting. Even the coffee tasted like burned paper...
Waiters barely speak english and take ages to take orders, if you ask for coffee in the middle of the meal they won't bring it, they...only bring it after dessert.
Went there with friends, we were probably the only civilised people, it was full of loud american college students taking selfies and pictures of their food. AVOID AT ALL COST. Such a shame, because the place could be amazing as the environment and location are great.More
Popped into Salvador Bachiller and was completely taken by surprise by the Secret garden restaurant. Lunch at 2 pm Had a menu del dia. Food tasty and beautifully presented, a Mexican salad to start followed by monk fish in tequila with pineapple and for dessert...the yummiest cheesecake. A glass of delicious Alberino all included for 12 euros. A sparkling setting, lovely table wear and excellent service. Definitely go back next time I am in Madrid.More
