Best place for tapas in Barcelona, unique vibe, delicious food, great cava. Would go to Barcelona only for those squids <3

One of best dinners we've ever had. Amazing tapas, great atmosphere and service. We had to wait a little bit until we got a table. The prices aren't low, but worth every euro. Just fabulous dinner.

Small wait to get in but it is worth the wait. Food is good and not too expensive. We enjoyed the house cava, pan con tomate, and the tortilla with chorizo. The Lagarto was also quite good.

Fantastic local tapas place. Recommended by a friend and the food and atmosphere didn’t disappoint. Unfortunately, they charged us twice for our meal. They used one machine, thought it didn’t work, then used another. When I called after seeing two charges, they cannot understand my...broken Spanish and hang up. I texted them and received no response. Now my bank is trying to contact. I used my debit card, unfortunately. Any advice on how to contact?More

The easiest review to do, this was amazing. The food was incredible. The atmosphere was great. Being english and speaking a tiny amount of Spanish, the host and the bar tenders appreciated my efforts and made me feel really welcome and feel like a local!...A really friendly place, amazing food and a great experience. Well done!More

I stumbled upon this tapas bar when I visited Barcelona a few years ago and loved it back then. So naturally, while visiting Barcelona again, I returned. The food is still great and authentic. Try the dried tuna with almonds, the smoked sardines, the ansjovis...with olive oil, the sausage with white beans, etc etc. I couldn’t find anything I didn’t like. The place is crowded and lively. I would love to be a regular here, but unfortunately I remain just a passerby for now.More

We loved this popular, cozy restaurant. It was well worth the wait. All the tapas we had were fresh and flavorful. Especially loved the mussels.

World class tapas. They make all the simple stuff to perfection. The atmosphere in this place is magic (but a little hectic). Everyone should try this..

Fun tapas place. Often a line but we ducked in for some bacalao and wife had dessert. They als have a house wine which I wish I tried. Fun to watch the locals and the staff preparing dishes at the bar.

The diddles wandered down the alleyways and found this gem. Had about a 20 min queue to get in for the 7pm opening. The place was AMAZING. Great atmosphere, great food, fab staff and excellent cava. Great bustle about the place. Def worth a visit!

La Xampanyet has been a favourite over fifteen and more years of coming to Barcelona. We don’t mind places which are jam packed and sometimes we can brace ourselves for reasonably authentic tapas bars that have tourist driven higher prices for their food and booze...but this time the queue here was just so long and off putting that we abandoned the effort and wandered westwards where we found a very lively and cheap place in Poble Sec. But if you ever find yourself outside Xampanyet when there is a short queue, don’t hesitate to come in. Or remains a bucket list must do.More

Do not go if you're not prepared to wait on line. Do not go if you're not able to go with the flow in a loud, cramped environment. DO GO if you simply want what we thought was the best tapas (and house cava) in...Barcelona. Its more than a meal, its an experience. And an experience we'd like to revisit many more times. MUY BIEN!More

It's really small place and really hard to find a place to sit. Most of the people are standing. However I saw couples or friend groups there. If you go early you might find a place.
