If you are searching for a hearty traditional German feed while in Berlin look no further. This place has been the best so far. Large menu, good prices, beer is cheaper then soft drink- excellent. Didnt have a reservation but got a table straight away....More

Popped in for a quick meal before a show so time was short. The food and wine was great and service excellent. It was very busy so make sure you book in advance.

I was there with a big group of people to enjoy german food, and I was really unsatisfied. The service was bad and both waiters very rude and unhelpful, for example when we asked what were the differences between their beers. The food is in...More

Been here a couple of times a few years apart. A very popular place. So reservations is a must. The staff are super friendly. The beer is world class and the food was your typical home warming meal. The menu has a large variety of...More

Had team dinner here, the waitress didn't want to take my order for beer because he wanted to sell something else. During the whole night, he was bringing bottles/beer that nobody order in order to increase our invoice. Food was ok, but service is really...More

Hostess greeted us with a brusque, "Cash Only." Servers were very rushed and harried. When the check came, the hostess scolded us for not knowing that tip wasn't included (which is not usual for restaurants in Berlin). She could have just informed us, we are...More

One of the best reasturant experiences in the "hearty home cooking" category. The whole interior is protected, being one of the oldest venues in Berlin which adds a great deal to the dining experience. Even tough the place was packed and the kitchen probably swamped...More

Wonderful German food. A group dinner, outstanding service, the best in Berlin! Wiener schnitzel was excellent, pork with sauerkraut, potatoes and spicy mustard very good. Try their Tartes Flambees- delicious. Like a very thin crust pizza. Too much food and great German atmosphere.

I would like to write a review just for the treatment we had once we got there. First, we went there without a booking and please note that it isn't possible to book a table on the phone, that's what they said when we,in the...More

Stumbled across this place after a long day seeing the sights and popped in for a welcome drink. We stayed the entire evening. At one point there was a queue outside the door of diners patiently waiting. There was a constant stream of customers and...More

Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can
both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central
neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the
1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around
Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s,
rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a
carefree life here. An old hospital even became a
hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today
