The place is gorgeous and the service was great, but we had better food experiences at other places around the region (the food could have been better).

Gorgeous little gem just outside Gordes with a garden-facing terrace. We both opted for the menu - a steal at 25 Euros or so - which started with tasty and cool gaspacho, then perfectly cooked dorade, then panna cotta. Delicious with swift and excellent service.

We dined here in November as we were picking up our daughter from SCAD Lacoste and stumbled upon this establishment. This trip had us flying into Toulouse and out of Rome over the course of two weeks. Now, months later, I can tell you sincerely...that this place had one of the more memorable dishes of the trip; duxelles and gnocchi. Amazing. The foie gras was quite nice too.More

We ate here on a quiet night and had a good meal. The service was fine and the food was good. They do allow dogs to join the tables so if that is a concern for you then ask for a corner table. It was...no problem for us.More

Four of us dined here once at the beginning of our week at a chateau not far away, and again on the night before departure. The menu du jour is a nice value in comparison with a la carte orders. Dishes we enjoyed were salmon...slices in oil, salad with quail & foie gras, fish filet, lamb, duck, and filet mignon. Good presentation, portions satisfying but not huge. With aperitifs, wine & dessert the bill was 240 euro for 4 persons. So be prepared. I have found that in Europe it is always good to have adequate cash (or a nearby ATM in view) because it is not uncommon for something in the credit card system to be suddenly out of service. I do think the restaurant has a duty to inform, however, and possibly to offer a discount or drink on the house in such circumstances.More

L’Estellan Restaurant Review 9-3-2019 This establishment deserves a negative rating, but since this site won’t allow that I’ll bring it up to zero by acknowledging the following: Good Location – just a few Kms from Gordes on main road Attractive Property-stone building, plenty of free...parking Open every day-Lunch & Dinner Pleasant interior, but no real ambiance or charm Now for what matters: Greeting-indifferent; “sit anywhere you want” with a dismissive waive of the hand Menu in French only-not really a problem, but later given one in English when we ordered dessert Service was perfunctory; no attempt to be helpful or offer suggestions. The featured ingredient of the main course was served facing away from the diner, a definite faux pas for a “gourmet restaurant”. Manager/maitre’d showed an obvious preference for “regulars” – foreign tourists were seemingly just a nuisance to be tolerated Food – Meh!....Not that it was bad, it just wasn’t…bland with no flavor or exceptional preparation and the place is touted to be “Gourmet” The duck breast main dish I had used canette, not the magret you would expect from a gourmet restaurant. Probably a price point decision, but no excuse for poor preparation (yes I do know how to properly prepare duck breast, having learned at a cooking school in Paris) And the “piece de resistance” – To cap the evening we waited at least 15 minutes to get our check while the manager chatted it up with two patrons at the front door, in full view of our table which had been completely cleared. When we finally received our check, and proffered our credit card, their equipment indicated an incorrect or invalid pin. That same day we had two other transactions, one approved and one showing “incorrect pin”. The credit card company said the problem was in their equipment and to simply ask the vendor to over-ride the pin #. The manager refused to even try and became belligerent and accused us of either not knowing or using an expired #. My requests to try went unheeded and he even turned to a table of diners and implied that this “ugly American” was trying to pull off something. We paid the bill with another credit card and left thoroughly disgusted, disappointed and ready to tell everyone what a disaster this place is. Our hotel had recommended L’Estellan and they were totally appalled at the treatment we had received. Bottom Line: As experienced travelers, who have dined all over Europe and elsewhere for the past twenty years, WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT GOING TO L’ESTELLAN.More

I was so jealous of the foie gras that my father-in-law had there last year that we had to go back this time. We had an excellent meal, and whilst it is not cheap, it is reasonably priced given the high quality of the food,...I had the 3-course Menu Gourmand at 49 Euros, foie gras with apricot chutney to start, followed by tuna in an excellent lightly curried sauce, and a great chocolate dome for dessert. We all loved our meals and this is definitely somewhere that we will return to.More

On the way from a very busy tour day back to our hotel in L'Isle sur la Sourge were were looking where to eat dinner. This place was recommended by few webs as well as Trip Advisor. We choose to sit in the open space...in the backyard. It was in early hours of the evening surrounded by nature and forest, very welcoming service, the best wine we had so far, Though we choose Rajoha. Menue offers meals of 2 courses for fixed price or A -La Carte . Every thing we chose was very delicious of high standart imaginative cooking. Though the place is in a rural area you could see that some of customers were permanent ones that knew the waiters and the owner. I always believe in a places where locals are eating and coming back again and again It proves the quality.More
