Amazing Japenese food with a french influence - exceptionally friendly service. My friends couldn't make it to Paris due to the Coronavirus and I decided to go on my own given I'd been looking forward to this restaurant for some time. I didnt expect to...like it as much as I did as I generally don't like eating on my own. It far exceeded expectations. Great service and amazing food - I had the 9 courses and 7 wines.
A must !!!!!!!!!!!More
We really enjoyed dining at Sola. We've been to Japan 4 times and the fusion of Japanese and French food was wonderful. Service was outstanding as was almost all of the food. I loved dining in the cave thought the meal was reasonable for the...quality. The only thing which I found a bit disappointing was that the wine pairings, with the exception of the Junmai Daiginjo, were only average, and didn't measure up to the food.More
We had dinner in this cozy one Michelin star restaurant and we were not disappointed.
The ambiance of the lower room is both intimate and very impactful. The service relaxed, precise and attentive.
The food: an outstanding merge of the French classicism and ingredients with...the Japanese taste and finesse. The result is just mouthwatering, starting from the appetizers to the dessert.
We started with four small appetizers what were incredible, ranging from a delicious oyster to the less conventional foie-gras, figs and chocolate. The starters were remarkable because of the fine balance between sourness and saltiness. These dishes were more reminiscent of a Japanese styled cuisine that French, while remaining extremely elegant and pleasant. One of the highlights was rice, foie-gras, sea-snake and black truffle: luscious, buttery, melting in the mouth.
The second main was based on deer meat, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned.
Dessert were not overly sweet and remarkably light.
The value for money is very good, in particular in a city such as Paris.More
We enjoyed exceptional food here - flavors, textures, and presentation were on point. Note that this quintessential French haute cuisine, with limited Japanese influence aside from the use of some Japanese ingredients. Would have loved to see more kaiseki influence, but we were delighted with...the dishes overall.
We were not able to get a table downstairs, so there was nothing noteworthy about the atmosphere, other than that it was extremely quiet - awkwardly so - making any conversation feel conspicuous to the room.
This was probably exacerbated by the painfully slow pacing of the meal, which is my only real criticism of the experience. After being seated, we waited 20 minutes before we were acknowledged for drink orders, and 45 minutes before receiving something to taste (a beautiful selection of amuse bouches). We arrived with empty stomachs, so this pacing made us anxious early on. There was 10-15 minutes of waiting between completion of a course and the next course being served, which in my opinion is much too slow. Had we known the meal would drag on for close to 3.5 hours, we would have looked elsewhere, as much as we loved the food.More
...when you are at Sola. Umami at its best in Japanese-French-Fusion. Definitely a place to return next time in Paris, being well aware that there is competition on highest level in this food city.
The service was impeccable, you feel very comfortable from the moment...of the friendly welcome at this calm and tasteful place. The menu is nicely thought through, a journey of taste and flavours, presenting the vegetables, meat and fish to all your senses in a unique way of discrete richness, hence the perfect balance. Conclusion: We all left the restaurant in full happiness.More
My family and I enjoyed our dinner at Sola. Honestly, I was speechless. It was probably one of the best meals of my life. The chef is a genius, the flavors were perfectly balanced and the plating was amazing. It's really hard to pick a...favorite because everything was stunning but I loved the signature dish with the foie gras and the eel the most, but everything was truly amazing! I liked the fact, that I didn't leave the restaurant too full but satisfied. Very nice service and we had a lovely dinner at sola. Amazing...More
My wife and I went for dinner at Sola after it was recommended by my son and girlfriend last month. Despite their hype we were not disappointed. We ate in the downstairs cave, which was a nice atmosphere and the music was very Zen.
There is...a set menu but they do ask if you have an allergies or foods that you do not eat.
Each course is served with a detailed explanation of the ingredients and is beautifully prepared. The tastes was fantastic and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.
We highly recommend Sola.More
This gastronomic french/Japanese restaurant is one of the best experience I had in years. The place is beautiful and you can sit like in Japan in the downstairs room. You'll need to take out your shoes naturally. Food is high quality and chef is very...inventive and talented. There's a suggestion of very fine wine that can be order with the menu to sublime the experience. Waiters are very distinguished and create a story around the different dishes.More
