Definitely worth a visit. Great atnostphere, friendly service. The food came quickly, french onion soup, good, duck leg and potatoes, perfectly done. The bill was also fair!

What a wonderful restaurant! Came to Paris hoping for a French cuisine experience and came to Les Philosophes following a recommendation from a tour guide. The atmosphere is 100% authentic, in the best possible way. Service was friendly and accommodating, mains were great, in particular...the wild cod curry and the beef tartare. The deserts were unbelievable - the selection of cheese was the best I've had (and I've had many) and the crème brûlée was spot on In short - go and you will not be disappointed :)More

The place is a center point for people who wish to have a good drink or beer or nice meal. Always busy and open all around the day and evening (!). Service was very good, speedy and pleasant. We visited in October and stayed nearby - we ate breakfast here often, they were always friendly and willing to speak English. I am puzzled by the bad reviews as we found it to be charming place to eat with warm service - especially when...we returned during the week. All construction is done now so the past reviews about that are moot. Some of these rude reviews make me wonder if it was the customer and not the restaurant -More

They will rudely tamper with your order without your permission. If you don't pay attention to the food that they did it without your permission, you'll be asked to pay for everything. If you want to go this restaurant, take care your money.

A friend of mine arrived after to dinner and she didn’t fit into our tiny table. When we asked the waitress we wanted to change our table to a bigger one, as many other tables were available, she respondend in a rude way that if...we already had a table, we couldn’t move to another one. She also made ugly faces and said we should stay where we were, even if we were not feeling confortable. We decided to ask for the check and leave the place immediately. We all felt mistreated as clients by this waitress.More

We went just before the dinner rush and were seated right away. The server looked a bit disorganized but we had no issues. I ordered the Duck Confit which was good but a bit dry and not much flavour and my husband ordered the Beef...Bourgioun which was tasty. I got the creme brulee for dessert which was very good and DH got the chocolate mouse which he said was ok. Overall, a decent meal but nothing spectacular. Great location!More

The food and drinks are normal- not something spectacular that you haven’t tried before. I would recommend the duck and beef there. The service and waiter on the other hand was really slow. He forgot to bring us several things that we ordered (we had...to ask for them twice). Even for the bill we had to wait… Next time, I would for sure choose a different restaurant.More

Food was good. Service was unbearably slow. At the end of a long day in Normandy and six hours on a bus we just wanted dinner. Our entree (appetizers) came out slow (should have been a red flag) then an HOUR after we FINISHED then...entree our dinners came out.More

The onion soup was great, the pâté was so delicious that we bought some jars of it and brought them home. The one problem was the boeuf Bourguignon. There were a ton of big pieces and they were all tough. This was a big problem,...but everything else was great. Make sure you have a reservation.More
