*Please note we are closed for the festive season, so our learners and staff can take a well deserved break! We will reopen on Monday 8th January 2024, Mondays-Fridays 10:30am-1:30pm* The Better Together Café is a social enterprise run by learners at Derby Adult Learning Service (part of Derby City Council). Learners prepare and serve a range of food and drinks as part of their course. We are also a Warm Hub, so pop in and keep warm and find out what support we can offer. Come and have a drink, snack or reasonably priced lunch with us! Keep up to date with events and information about the café via our Facebook page - Derby Adult Learning Service.

I’m vegetarian and the vegetarian option for the Xmas meal was delicious. Reasonably priced, tasty and the students serving were very professional with lots of support from the staff, who were all very friendly. A bustling cafe with a great atmosphere.

Our son works in the Cafe as part of a volunteer program, having taken course there before. This is a great set up and the food they serve is excellent and very good price too. Perfect to drop in on if you are in Derby shopping etc, and great to support this venture as well.

Fantastic place. A vital resource ran by Derby Adult Learning. Not only is the food good and affordable it helps so many different people. A clean, bright warm hub. Staff are excellent and very helpful. Highly recommended

Great value for money, friendly staff and tasty food. I go here at least once a week for lunch with work friends as its convenient due to work at the council house. Would be great if it was open earlier for coffee and cake!

I occasionally from the Council House and have only just discovered the Better Together Café. My visit was a pleasurable experience. Really good value meal, drink and pudding. Great service from the learners. After years of hit and miss food from around town, this will be my first port of call! I just feel disappointed that this isn't well advertised to staff who work in the building as I don't normally go past the cafe area.

The cafe is bright and cheerful. The staff were friendly and served me quickly and efficiently, even though the day I visited it was the students first day. Generally clean and well run. Particular thanks to the till staff.

Our Christmas lunch was absolutely delicious cooked by a team of wonderful professional friendly staff and learners. Well worth a visit in great surroundings at an affordable cost for freshly cooked food.
