Tried out Elbow Lane with a friend on Sunday just gone and arrived to a packed restaurant, full of atmosphere! The host took my name and number and we went for a drink around the corner (the restaurant doesn't take bookings but there are loads of nice bars around). Less than 30 minutes later, the host rang me to inform us that the table was ready. On arrival we were shown to our table and given a little complimentary portion fried chickpeas as a little appetizer. A lovely little touch. We shared a portion of olives, and the wood grilled plum which was a really interesting dish. For mains, we went with steak and trout with two side orders. Both dishes were presented beautifully and my steak was cooked to perfection. For drinks I went for the Tempranillo and my friend went for cocktails. The cocktails were really good and once again, presented beautifully. It was a nice option being able to buy wine by glass, bottle AND pichet. We shared the chocolate mousse for dessert which was just insanely good! Overall, the waiters were incredibly attentive throughout the night, and created a really relaxed atmosphere in a busy little restaurant. The kitchen is on view to entire restaurant which I always love. The chefs in Elbow Lane are obviously highly skilled, as everything was cooked to perfection. There is seating at the bar also which might be nice for more casual dining occasions. Pricing was very reasonable and portion sizes, generous. Our bill came to €115. I would definitely recommend Elbow Lane to a friend for any occasion. Will definitely be back for more!

Came here for dinner on the recommendations of family members who had been here previously and had loved it - we loved it ourselves at the end! The restaurant is quite small however we didnt feel cramped at any point. We had a seat at the bar, which we normally wouldnt go for, but it was extremely comfortable. The staff are so nice and knowledgeable about the food and drinks on offer and made us feel extremely welcome in particular the lady who served us. I had one of their craft beers to drink which was really nice and would love to try some more the next time we go back. My wife had wine from the excellent list of wines on offer. Didnt have starters however they looked really nice. I had the sirloin steak and my wife had fish both cooked to perfection and came with the house salad which was so fresh. We had chips and the delicious mushrooms as sides. Before our desert we were given 2 hot towels which I think was a really nice touch! I cant remember what we had for desert but it was excellent also. Meal was very reasonably priced also for the quality of food. Definitely will be back here again, service is second to none and the food is excellent.

This is quite a small place, and they do not take reservations so you might have to wait for a table, or they will take your number and call you when a table is available. We have been quite a few times now and the food is fabulous, especially the steaks which are prepared on a flame grill which you can see as the kitchen area is part of the room. We’ve always been impressed with the service as well - very friendly and helpful.

This location is a combination of a microbrewery offering a selection of home brewed ales for you to try while you watch the chefs at work in open plan kitchen. We tried the Ribs and Mackerel which were both expertly cooked and very tasty. This was all polished off with a local recipe Irish coffee that was absolutely delicious.

Elbow Lane staff were friendly and knowledgeable, however waitress did not know what was gluten free on the menu and management needed to confirm what was. It was not highlighted on menu either. Manager met us at door and was lovely towards us being a few mins late. They also accommodated us moving from centre aisle to wall seat. Music in background very loud+++ we could barely hear the waitress nor eachother and it seemed the music was more for the chefs perhaps working within earshot. The dessert was flamboyant in detail on the menu- too a lá carte for a smokehouse, we would have preferred classic desserts. The side salad with T bone steak was the worse part, just leaves in a bowl and I'm not joking 1 tiny slice of cauliflower that had been dipped in vinegar - the piece of cauliflower was so small it was like a mouse's dinner. Wine was what we asked for, but overpriced compared to market lane next door (€36 vs €28). T bone steak asked for med-well done and was still pinky inside. Overall, we wouldn't be going back. Reviews are overrated.

We visited elbow lane in a party of four, we arrive at 5 pm and were seated immediately. The service was very thorough and friendly. Drinks came out promptly. We ordered the brisket roll, beetroot, and a sausage board. The brisket roll was crispy, but the interior was mushy, and tacky a weird texture, this was just okay. The beetroot app was bland, tasteless, under-seasoned and not a well composed dish at all. The sausage platter was okay, interesting pickles but 3 small enough sausages at 16.00 I thought was a bit steep for what they were. Our mains, we had a rack of ribs, pork chop, T-bone steak, and the aubergine option. I myself had the pork chop which in fairness was very good ,seasoned well, grilled to perfection. The niceties end here unfortunately , the full rack of ribs was not from the day, dry dry and dry. Not fall apart in the slightest, also the trimming was close to the bone leaving minimal meat on the rack. The aubergine main was embarrassing, it was literally, a whole slab of aubergine with polenta and other tasteless bits. The T-bone was just odd, very charred on one side and the other side barely had marks on it! But why? Maybe the area of the grill was too hot, it genuinely tasted burnt, and not a great amount of any other flavour. The sides were okay, nothing to write home about. The deserts were the saving grace, very well composed, flavours were just right and very nice presentation. The place gets a lot of hype, but to me on this occasion they fell short. For a 200 tab I expected better. With a few tweaks this could have been a much nicer experience.

I have eaten in New York's best steak restaurants, Kobe beef in Japan, and Argentinian gaucho steaks. This small, informal restaurant in Cork, served me the best steak I have ever eaten: period. The rest of the meal was memorable as well. The waiter meticulously described the cut of beef and its preparation, including a final melted butter and garlic torching. I bought a pack of their "rub", regrettably using it up within a few weeks and uncertain as to how to duplicate the amounts of numerous herb, brown sugar, and spice ingredients on my own. Who would believe that in Cork, nonchalantly venturing into a Trip Advisor highly-ranked restaurant, I'd eat the best steak in my life, spanning over 6 decades!

Myself and my partner visited Elbow Lane last night for dinner last night which was nothing short of excellent. Right from the start the service was brilliant and each member of staff was very friendly and keen to show their knowledge of the member and brewed on site beer. It’s so refreshing to see members of staff who are truly passionate about the food/drink their serve and actually know the ingredients put into each dish. I had the baby back ribs and my partner had the fish of the day, both of which were fantastic! Every course we had, and home brewed drink was delicious and I can say it was the best meal we had during our time in Cork. Another point to mention which is fairly important given the circumstances we are in is that each member of staff adhered to the Covid measures put in place. Surfaces were evidently sanitised regularly and everyone had a mask or visor on which helped to make us feel safe and at ease. We will definitely be back should we ever find ourselves in Cork again!

I honestly can’t rate this place highly enough. My family and I enjoyed a stunning brunch today ( Sunday) The two children in our party of 5 really enjoyed the pancakes, my sister and I had the pastrami and hash brown, and my brother in law made short work of the steak & eggs. Our server was a young man called Joe, he was really friendly and incredibly knowledgeable both about the food and the beer brewed in the micro brewery. You could tell immediately he enjoyed his work and had a great sense of pride, and in turn delivered an excellent service. We will definitely be back again. Keep up the great work. Sam.

This place feels like a hidden gem in Cork and is a really special place! The staff were so welcoming on arrival, it was my partners birthday and they made an effort to say Happy Birthday as I’d mentioned it on the booking. A small detail but just demonstrates the level of service here! All the staff were amazing - they were personable, super helpful in explaining the food options and the brewery details (my partner is a beer buff so LOVED this!) and the service itself was really hands on. It felt more like you were in a group of friends than a visitor which was lovely. The food was absolutely unreal! We opted for the T-Bone Steak and the Rib Eye with both cooked to perfection. Genuinely the nicest steak I’ve ever had! Take the teams tips on the sides too as we had the mushrooms at their recommendation which was out of this world. The setting transports you from Cork to somewhere like New York with its modern geo painted walls, candle lit tables, inclusive flame BBQ and industrial feel with the brewery too. The design is just amazing! Thank you again to all the staff - you were wonderful and made my partners birthday a really special one!

This restaurant is a gem! Firstly, the staff are so friendly and really know the food and drink they are serving. The atmosphere is cool - we sat at the bar and although this doesn't sound nice it was comfortable and made for a really nice, different experience. I really like how you don't have to book - we arrived about 6 and put our name down for a table and as promised we had a call at 7 to say our table was ready. Perfect for when you want something nice but casual. We were given some corn to snack on as we waited however the food and service were speedy. You can see the cooking going on in the restaurant with a large open grill. The steaks were amazing! So tender and tasty. We each got a portion of chips on the side and this was just enough. Loved the seasoning on the chips. We will be back

First time going to elbow lane and I was really impressed. The food was exceptional. I got the rib eye and it was cooked perfectly and I have never tasted nicer chips in my life! Above all that the staff inside there are truly the nicest and most accommodating staff, I have ever met. Really nice guys very easy going. I will most definitely be making a return.

Had a fantastic meal at Elbow Lane in July for a birthday celebration. The starters we chose were amazing particularly the sausage selection. We had steak and ribs as main courses. The steaks were incredibly seasoned (all of which was explained by the very competent waiter prior to us ordering). The four of us had a great experience and would highly recommend Elbow Lane.
