We very rarely post such a negative review. However the starters were absolutely terrible, especially the Brie (£8) and the bread (£5) were not good . Our bread was refunded because we complained., We then assumed that our mains would have more attention paid to...them. But alas not. My wife then got the stuffed chicken (£20) which was absolutely horrible I.e. complete dry with zero flavor. She didn’t eat a single scrap. The bartender/ waiter even said that he was disappointed with the quality of my wife’s dish, when we queried it.. My seafood boxty was average at best. This is our sixth visit and last time. Won’t be back.More

Went here for post Christmas lunch, midweek. Not very busy, only one waiter on duty but he coped well, was very pleasant and explained all our questions about menu. We both had the pan boxty my friend had the chicken I had the seafood. They...were both delicious, I’m exaggerating when I say it’s the best thing I’ve eat in a while. Definitely give this place a try you won’t be disappointed.More

Holohan's never disappoints me! But what more was, the 3 friends that I brought with me, none of them having been before, they were all delighted with the food and with the servers Deborah and Calvin we were really well looked after.

Amazing staff (friendly, professional, efficient), great atmosphere, and the food is wonderful (one of the best I had in a restaurant). I highly recommend not to miss it!

We visited Holohan’s Pantry on Friday past for lunch before our visit to the QFT. Wasn’t aware of it and found it via Tripadvisor search for restaurants near QFT. What a lovely spot. Beautifully presented, clean as a whistle with first class customer care. The...food is of the highest order and the wine and beer list will bring a smile to all. We’ll be back …. and if you haven’t been …. then go. You’ll be glad you did. And you’ll be back too.More

I cannot fault Holohans for a lovely birthday meal. From planning the meal, including meal pre orders, to the food on the night and assistance from the staff in sorting the bills. 10/10 and would recommend to anyone looking for a nice, and excellent for...value meal. Everyone commented on the food and ambiance. Thanks again.More

I cannot for the life of me fault this place. I tried to book a reservation about a week before, and the only booking left was 9:30pm on a Saturday night. I emailed the restaurant to ask if I could be first reserve for any...cancelled bookings. They came back to me, almost immediately to confirm they could book me a table for half 7 - very happy with that. On arrival we were greeted by a friendly server and he took our coats. We were seated in a quiet corner, which was perfect for us as we are a couple (and I am fairly heavily pregnant). Other parts of the restaurant seemed more 'vibey' so felt it would suit all. We were served by two of the staff, both incredibly friendly and attentive. One of staff (he may have been the owner, he was fantastic) explained the menu and provided recommendations. My husband and I both ordered the soup of the day and the fish boxty. All the food was incredible. Everything was cooked and seasoned beautifully. For dessert, we shared the salted brownie which again, tasted fantastic. I highly recommend everything we ate, but the menu is small and it's clear that everything would be cooked well and taste great. All our food was served in a timely manner but we didn't feel rushed at all. The server (again, might have been the owner - should have got his name!) was attentive but completely appreciated when we need a break between courses or just wanted to stay to finish our drinks/conversation. As we were putting on our coats, he came back over to ask us what we were doing for the rest of that evening as we had told him earlier we were in Belfast on a fleeting visit. He recommended some local pubs with live music. He then ordered us a taxi and, we took him up on the local pub. It was a brilliant evening. The food, service, ambience and price was all 10 out of 10. If we're ever in Belfast again, I'll be back here for sure.More

I visited the restaurant for the first time on Thursday 15th December with my wife. We had a really wonderful meal and the staff were friendly and efficient throughout our visit. Holohans is so much better than other Belfast restaurants and I’m certain that we’ll...be back again soon.More

Just back from a lovely meal, with my husband, at Holohan’s. Best sea bass I’ve had. The food was great and the service was friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and its 5 star review is well deserved.

It had been some time since we had last visited The Pantry & after having a look online at the Christmas menu, decided to make a booking. I was intrigued by the Boxty offerings including one filled with ham hock & cabbage in a mustard...sauce. I definitely wanted to try that. The restaurant which was looking very Christmassy was busy with diners obviously enjoying the ‘office’ Christmas night out. A great atmosphere. My husband ordered a starter of ham hock terrine and I ordered the baked Camembert a la Cooleeny. Both were delicious. We could not be persuaded to try Holohans Christmas Dinner though tempted but opted for the Pan Boxty filled with the said ham hock & cabbage in a mustard sauce. It was delicious and indeed my husband declared it was the best meal he’d had in a long time. Desserts of Christmas pudding with cream & custard & chocolate brownie with salted caramel sauce & ice cream were a delectable finish to such a scrumptious meal. Usually Rioja tinto drinkers, on this occasion we enjoyed a lovely bottle of an Italian Sangiovese. As ever, the welcome was very warm & the service first class. It was definitely good to be back to enjoy the usual quality food & drink despite these difficult times. A lovely evening thank you Holohans!More

This restaurant is close to the Ulster Museum and has a very nice interior. We both had the chicken boxty, which is a traditional Irish potato, pancake dish. The dish was tasty and a lot lighter than I was expecting the only problem was that...it was served on a cold plate.More

This place is small and cozy and has reliably amazing, fresh food. Wonderful date spot or family meal, or just a great weeknight dinner. This is where I take visitors and I consider it the best restaurant in Belfast. Everyone is always happy after a...meal here.More

I think it’s best you contact the restaurant directly. There was certainly quite a large group when I was there.

I had a Vegetarian Boxty myself and it was absolutely delicious. Not sure about Vegan options but I would definitely call the restaurant and ask. They are very friendly and helpful.
