We stayed at a lodge at Strawberryfields park and the cider barn is right at the top of the road which was handy! We had some lovely local ciders, the mango was my favourite! Homemade pizzas looked great and seemed popular, staff were friendly too.
Went here for a light meal and a drink after arriving from Lancashire.
The lady behind the bar was very helpful, pleasant and polite. She did the best she could under the circumstances.
Most diners were outside and were generally family groups including children. Whilst...waiting to order at the bar there were three or four others sinking there. The conversation was very loud and at times contained lots of swearing, in front of youngsters at times too. The food looked good but they were unable to confirm whether a meal was gluten-free or not so said it was best to leave it. That’s fine but it did take about ten minutes to find out the information. So we had one drink and then left. We were here last year a few times and the atmosphere was much more pleasant and lots more options for meals on offer.More
We visited the Cider Barn more than once whilst staying at a Strawberryfields lodge. Staff were really friendly, especially to our two boys. Local cider was great and wine very good value. Pizzas were a big hit, as were the chicken nuggets and chips for...the children. Really helped us unwind! Children loved the dress up clothes available!More
Stopped here for lunch with my partner and we had a great experience. A great taste of local Somerset life - they had a great range of local ciders available and the homemade pizzas were genuinely unmatched!
Great staff, Great food. So friendly and helpful. Spent a few nights here whilst staying locally. Live music on Sunday was great. Selection of ciders amazing. Definitely visiting again when in the area and would recommend to all.
We came to the Barn for the first time on Sunday 22nd August and had an amazing time!
The pizzas are really good; thin-crust and authentic, such a change from the 'Chicago Style' bread-heavy offerings in so many places. I tried Hedger's medium cider and...it was a smooth accompaniment, if I had a lift home I'd have been tempted to have another.....
It's a quirky place, with lots of amateur art and collected fan posters (Star Wars seemed popular!), seating inside and out and a genuinely friendly ambience. I'd be happy to come here again, especially if they have top-notch live musicians like Mean Ol' Spider, who were playing to a wide-ranging audience of locals and visitors. I think it would be a great place to take a family party in the day time too.More
Went there last night of mini break, staff really helpful, no question was a problem to the lady behind the bar considering ordering for 6 adults (including cider novices) & I child. Ciders were cracking, they had my favourite, lilley's bee sting, NORTH ST cider...was really good and wood fired pizza's were really nice. Recommend in an instant, all of us had a great time, only wish my local could sell ciders like that!More
I spotted this unique business on line and as we don't live too far away we gave it a try. GREAT WELCOME, WONDERFUL CIDER and an OUTSTANDING PLOUGHMAN'S. We enjoyed the banter and happy atmosphere. Quirky in a good way. Many thanks to Jason and...Harry... and a few locals over a quiet lunchtime.More
