Now To be honest. Let me be straight forward. I’ve been over one year and my brother has been here over seven years. I’ve always recommended this place but it’s a shame that I did not experience it my self. Finally!!!yes finally I got a...chance to be here. Two lads. JOHN (beard) and TOMMY (blue) you will know why!! Are absolute legends. What a experience!!! It’s a shame that I can’t tip on card. So please better make sure you have cash. Because this guys deserve every cent of it. Experience the the exotic yet classic flavors of beer and wine. I’ll definitely be returning with more people. Wish I can give more than five stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️More

What fabulous places to meet, eat and drink. The stonegate bar is really quirky, small but cosy with great selection of drinks. The staff are excellent, attentive and friendly. The lendal bar is a larger and busier bar however again a great selection of drinks...and food that's to die for, a must if you like large portions.! Highly recommended.More

This was my second visit here and it definitely won’t be my last. The food, staff and atmosphere is all wonderful. We had the ‘tapas’ version of the steak pie with mushy peas and mash which was delicious. Would highly recommend if you like a...laid back and quirky setting with ultimate comfort food!More

Dropped by for a drink, what an amazing place! Loved the quirky decor - we even took photos when we went to the toilets so we could show one another what we were missing! A great atmosphere, spotlessly clean with super friendly staff. As for...the drinks, the ale was the reason for our visit, an overwhelming choice but bar staff are really knowledgeable about what is on offer and guided us to make a decision. I am clueless but they got it spot on with the cherry sour ale - proper lady petrol! Absolutely worth visiting, will definitely be back in the future.More

Visited having read reviews on TA. Had to wait a few minutes for a table to come free upstairs but no hardship. Once seated, drinks list and menu quickly brought, with confirmation that you can choose anything from the shop to drink in. Excellent, engaging...staff who know their stuff. Brilliant selection of beer. Had the Madness Platter for lunch, which was very good. Prices very reasonable for both food and drinks. Absolutely wholeheartedly recommended.More

My wife and me popped in for a quick lunch while we were out taking in the sights of York. We were politely informed by the staff downstairs that when the green light within the gin store was on it meant that there was space...up the stair for customers. We managed to get a seat and found the little bar area welcoming and very relaxed with room for around 20/25 customers at the assortment of tables. We ordered a couple of drinks and a quick bit to eat and everything was lovely and freshly prepared. Staff were friendly and chatted away to us and we were sure to buy a couple of gin miniatures from downstairs before we left. Quirky with really decent food and friendly staff.More

Love this bar, bar staff always friendly and have a chat with you. Made to feel very welcome. Main Barman yesterday was entertaining singing to every tune that came on. A pleasant change to be served by such fun people. (And the beers are great).

A friend recommended this place to purchase some beers. What an amazing selection, I have never had such a choice. We decided to have dinner in the small, upstairs restaurant. So glad we did, superb range of beers on tap, great food, well priced and...lovely staff. Liked it so much, went back again the following evening!More

I would say no. It’s a small space upstairs and they serve food. Not sure your dog would appreciate being sat up there
