Lovely country pub with modern interior. Covid precautions in place - The restaurant was zoned for individual diners, it had hand sanitizer felt really safe. The landlord & landlady were friendly and knowledgeable about their locally sourced produce. The food was tasty and good sized...portions. Would definitely recommend trying if you are in the area. A proper pub with a large beer garden and lots of free parking. Easy to reserve a table. I ordered rib eye and my wife had chicken & mushroom pie. Steak was over cooked but full of flavour and too nice to send back. Both...of us cleared our plates which is always sign of a good meal. Crumble and custard was superb. Will we return. First time since lockdown. Starters were very good, main course very good but the vegetables were hard, I couldn’t cut the cauliflower. Very hot which I like. Pudding was a let down, cheesecake used to come with some kind of decoration but nothing today. Service...could have been a little quicker especially as one of the ladies behind the bar kept playing with her phone which I feel is very unprofessional. We felt very safe as it was a lovely day and lots of people were outside, the tables were well spread out. I did comment to my husband that I did see the barman using sanitising several times different parts of the bar. Overall we enjoyed, and would go again at some point, hoping they up their game.More

This is such a lovely pub I wish it was closer to where I lived! Turned up and they had live music and everyone was having a great time! It was a bit busy so service was slow but they made it clear from outset....The staff were really friendly and happy even with how busy it was. Ordered the fish and chips, which was so good! Decent amount of mushy peas and tartare! Big bit of cod can’t go wrong! Had a brownie for dessert which went down well! Would go again!More

This village pub is a great place to relax. The staff were very rushed but nothing was to much trouble and the smiles were still there after a great afternoon of music by Night train. Food was up to it's normal high standard. Well done...James &Chloe for jumping back soon after the lockdown. Keep it up😃More

Today is a wonderful way to spend my birthday afternoon that this amazing pub. Live music in the garden by Night Train was just brilliant but our food before was just incredible. I cannot thank the staff who despite the restrictions the staff were incredible...and could not do enough for us as we booked an inside table but wanted to sit outside but again just organised brilliantly to allow us too. It’s hard to describe how good this wonderful pub is and how the staff enrich our experience by being incredibly switched on to the restrictions without it being a chore. I cannot recommend enough how good this place is. Visit for sure but do book as it helps the staff organise to keep you safe without you realising what they do to jerk your safeMore

Since the lockdown, this was our 1st meal out, once again as before, superb, starters, 2 roast beef, 1 roast pork and 1 nut roast. 3 deserts. All excellent. Sensible distanced tables, each table has clearly marked out areas. Entrance and exit felt safe, hand...sanitiser in view to be used as and when. All waiting staff were masked, plus dealt with new way of eating out very well. Cannot wait to return ASAP.More
