What a lovely evening. Our first time visiting Bar61 and we look forward to coming back again soon. Tony took excellent care of us all night, telling us jokes, giving us complimentary shorts and entertaining our small talk. What a gentleman. I honestly cannot recommend the place enough. The cosy decor makes you feel like you are dining abroad, the tapas were amazing (I am a Coeliac and Tony was so knowledgeable and reassuring), the atmosphere was just perfect and the red wine was delicious. We ended up over paying after splitting the bill, as we were confused with the Eat out to Help out discount and Tony rushed over to inform us, we asked him to give us a voucher instead of a refund as we will definitely be back again soon and look forward to it. Was a lovely experience from entering the restaurant with a friendly warm welcome, to leaving with a big thank you. Cannot recommend enough.

A lovely evening spent in Bar 61. Friendly and charming staff and delicious food. We went for tapas and shared a number of plates between us. Before I went (looking at online menu) I thought perhaps the dishes were slightly pricey but actually the portions are good sizes and worth the money paid. The staff are charming and friendly and the food very tasty - I’ve walked away with a full stomach and a smile on my face. I’ll definitely be back and would recommend it.

This is my go-to place when I want to have a special evening. Here I have celebrated birthdays with family, romantic dates with my husband, nights out with friends... and I have always had a great experience. The staff (Al Pacino - we love you) are always attentive and efficient, the food is comforting and tasty and they tend to give you little treats with your meal. A must go to in Streatham.

Such a great place for dinner or drinks! We visited with our older kids for early supper before they went out (!!) ... the service here is so good, friendly and professional, you know the owners want you to have a great night. We shared tapas all of which were really tasty, had a bottle of good quality Sicilian wine... and a sneaky lemoncello! This place is a Streatham High Road legend and whilst other young and trendy pretenders may arrive nobody else offers the same welcome and genuine hospitality that makes it worth walking in the door!

Recently visited for a Birthday celebration as a couple, very warm welcome, lovely venue with some traditional character, engaging friendly, helpful service and delicious food with a wide selection of tapas as well as an a la carte menu. Would highly recommend to all seeking a tasty, friendly and traditional tapas feel. Will definitely be visiting again to see Tony Pocino, Gandhi and the others.

Fabulous food, waiters went above and beyond to ensure I was happy. I had been stood up by friends due to a scheduling error and the staff made easy, friendly conversation without being cloying. The food and wine was lovely and everyone working clearly knew the dishes well. I would recommend the Seafood Pasta (can’t remember the proper name) - portion was nicely sized and delicious.

Just one of the barbs that the waiters who were serving our party was hurling at each other. It was all in good nature though! A friend had suggested we have a meal at Bar 61 and I was a bit hesitant because about years ago and it wasn't a positive experience. This time around - wow! Firstly, the decor is really nice. Very authentic, classy, welcoming and cosy. It was really impressive and the welcome I recieved from Mel the bartender set us up for a really good evening. Our main waiter described himself as Al pacino as he proceeded to take our order. His colleague, Tony, on hearing that we were served by Al Pacino, snorted and said more like cappuccino! The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered an array of dishes all of which were delicious. One of the party I was with is vegetarian and there was enough variety on the menu to keep him happy. The Spanish wine we chose complimented the meal perfectly. The service was really good. Warm, professional and of a high standard. It's a family run business and one can feel the personal touch througout the evening. I would stick my neck out and say that Bar 61 ranks in the top 3 restaurants in Streatham. Excellent and highly recommended

So like 95% of the globe my partner and I have spent the last 3 months praying to be able to leave the confines of our kitchen and head to a quality establishment for a serious scran. After a long day back at the office, I was seduced into the idea of a few beers and some picky bits before an early night. Having missed a reservation because of COVID 19 we headed to Bar 61. What a choice! Greeted by Tony and Mel we were seated and ran through their personal recommendations in a manner that not only felt relaxed but genuine. Their attentivness to us and there ability to play off each other only accenctuated our enjoyment of what was quite honestly delicious food. We had Croquettes, Padrons Peppers, Grilled Octopus, Potatoe Bravas and breaded mushrooms. Any disappointments... Not a chance. My girlfriend practically inhaled the food and we decided to stay for another hour and half. Drinking, chatting and generally enjoying being back in a quality and authentic establishment. Thanks Mel. Thanks Tony. See you for the Arsenal game.

Such a lovely place! We have been visiting for a few years now and Bar 61 has maintained the same amazing standard of service, food and cleanliness/ general interior. Has to be said the staff and service in particular are so lovely, welcoming and friendly along with some ‘dad’ hokes that make you feel comfortable. Each time we have had tapas which is always perfect, generous portions but I would imagine any mains would be lovely too. Great and very extensive wine list also :)

Our group was looking for a tasty and cozy restaurant near our Airbnb to celebrate a friend's birthday and we stumbled upon this gem of a place! We were so excited about the tapas-style menu and all of the offerings. We were also a large group and they were able to seat us with no issues at all. My favorite plate was the calamari and also the garlic bread. They use real ingredients for bold flavors which I'm a huge fan of. It was such great service- we felt like extended family to them. Our drinks were constantly flowing as well. We asked for a surprise birthday plate for our friend and not only did they do that with a cute firework candle, but they also brought us the most delicious limoncellos for our group. It was the perfect way to end our trip in London. Friendly and the most generous service we received during our entire trip.

Delicious food and huge portions We just moved into the area and decided to try this place. We were so surprised when we got the food, it is one of the most genuine places to get good tapas and the price is really good considering the portions. The octopus was just as good as the one you can get in the Mediterranean, really recommend it. Service was great too!

Bar 61 is one of those quaint traditional restaurants that ooze personality and good service. The staff are attentive and hilarious. We opted for a tapas dinner and it was traditional and perfectly executed. Delightful evening.

We were welcomed at the restaurant like old friends despite it being our first visit. Our booking had to be changed at the last minute too due to train delays & we were accommodated with good grace. The food was abundant, fresh & very tasty. We look forward to re-visiting with our niece soon, so that we can return here once again for another great meal 😉👍🏻 An added bonus to this lovely meal was being able to make the most of the 50% discount offered at this time...not that we needed much encouragement here!

Visited this lovely little family run restaurant for the 1st time and will definitely return. Yes every morsel of the food was delicious but the care, friendliness and attentive service gives this establishment a family feel. I can't believe I've not visited before. I think it'll become a regular haunt as the welcome was just outstanding. Ordered from the tapas menu and not one dish was under par. Can't wait to return!

I thought the other reviews were too good to be true, but it is a great place. I was a bit late, but they were very friendly and accommodating. The starters (ham and calimari) were generous and fresh, and the mains - veal cordon bleh and steak were generous and beautifully cooked. The host is a really good fun, friendly, and a character if you have a joke with him. Loved it!
