Such a modest name for a really great restaurant. We had dinner at the East India and it was just perfect. We had the tasting menu which was just excellent, will go again in the autumn.

Coming from Birmingham I’m a massive fan of cheap curries served in a metal bowl mopped up with a naan the size of a duvet and normally ‘posh’ Indian food does nothing for me, however this was a wonderful experience with amazing food. Yes it...More

You could easily walk past this restaurant because it's tucked away, but don't because you will have one of the best meals of your life. Fantastic food. Indian cuisine and yet more than than. Superb flavours. Fine dining at it's best. Lovely staff too.

Food tasted great. The restaurant was a bit empty. The decoration is fine. The waiters were a bit weird, always looking at us from the other side of the room. We enjoyed it a lot !

This restaurant is BY FAR one of the best I have ever been too. I am incredibly fussy and wasn't expecting to like very much when I went. I LOVED EVERY SINGLE THING. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, the ambience was top notch...More

Sorry I haven’t answered your question before. The owners of this restaurant are delightful and very helpful. If you contact them beforehand I am sure they will discuss possible dishes with you. Best wishes.

Personally we prefer to choose our own dishes. The kitchen is set up for the tasting menu, so personal choices are a better test of cooking abilities. As far as I know they will flex the tasting menu.

Description
East India Cafe was established in November 2015. We opened the restaurant with the philosophy of bringing the techniques of mum's cooking into professional setting. We started researching the era of British Raj in Colonial India and brought those recipes back to life here in Cheltenham using modern cooking methods and our own twist. Our principle is to serve tasty food with a piece of history with it. This is not just a place to take care of guests hunger but also a place to come and relax with great variety of drinks and an evening of experience. For us research and innovation is an essential part of what we do with distinct attention to detail. We passionately believe in innovation and merge science with the art of cooking. Welcome to The East India Cafe, Cheltenham
