chicken liver pate was a bit of a hard block, but tasted ok. The main course of cod very good. The sea food salade starter looked good. Service good and friendly. Great location in the Marina

We went for lunch on a sunny Wednesday lunchtime. The restaurant was fairly quiet - but - the service was dire. We waited ages for our food - when we complained they comped us a desert saying there was a mix up but things did...not get better. The people on two tables arrived - were fed and left whilst we were waiting. And - the prices seem to have gone up for what is in reality Wetherspoons quality of food. This place just does not seem to be what it was like - think twice before risking your cash.More
We came in here quickly for a pre- cinema dinner and asked how fast they could do food. They instantly went to kitchen and put our order in and we had hot and tasty fish and chips within 10 mins! It was a generous piece...of fish and tasted great. They also offer 25% off the food bill with a Cineworld unlimited card which was great. The reason I have given 3 not a 4 is that the till wasn’t working and the staff were getting a bit anxious and grumpy around us (as we were near the till) which put me a bit on edge.More
Lovely food at very reasonable prices. It can sometimes be a bit tricky to please all the family but everyone enjoyed their meal and will definitely return.
Now known as the waterfront brasserie I went there on a Saturday evening to celebrate a 70th birthday. We had the upstairs part for the celebration. Scallops 1st course were brilliantly cooked although we did have them without the garlic as sometimes garlic can dominate...the scallops. The 2nd course I had tuna steak with creamy mushroom sauce which was absolutely delicious. I don’t like it very pink so asked for it to be cooked medium. It was lovely only slightly pink in the middle only but tastier than well done. Staff really welcoming and the chefs certainly know how to cook and will cook things how you want it. They are more than willing to respect the customer. The manager is very professional and oversees this restaurant. We will definitely visit it more frequently.More
Have eaten here lots of times, it seems to have changed hands/name and gone downhill. They don’t offer a set menu on a Friday lunchtime anymore so only a la carte. Food was fine and seemed fresh but crikey the waiting staff didn’t have a...clue what they were doing, unprofessional and totally disorganised. Spoilt a special family mealMore
We had a very enjoyable evening last week. The food was excellent. The menu offers an extensive choice. The desserts were yummy.
Had a lovely day in the sun with friends eating outside. Food was great and waitress was very welcoming and good at providing food and drinks. Very rude at end of dinner saying that she will not receive any of the tips through the service...charge and we should do it separately, and made us feel quite guilty. Really disappointing as had been nice until.More
Great location overlooking all of the boats. A sunny day so we could sit outside. The service was great, the manageress was so helpful and friendly. Wine she recommended was also good. Food was fine, my only criticism is that they use a lot of...butter. We would come again to sit outside on a sunny day.More
A very UNenjoyable experience. We waited so long for our order to be taken that we had to ask. When our starters finally arrived, the Chicken Liver Pâté was dry and my Fish Chowder was tepid so I asked for it to be slightly re-heated...- even then it was a minimum palatable temperature. We then endured another long wait for our main course - so long that we eventually asked the whereabouts of our food. The waitress seemed confused - either by the English language or by the situation, or both - and said that, because our starter dishes were still on our table, the kitchen had not been told to prepare our main courses. The implication almost seemed to be that we should have cleared the dishes ourselves so the waitstaff would have known to bring our next courses. When those main courses did arrive, the Mussels Marinière tasted fine but the Cod Crème sat on a measly portion of mashed potato and its chive sauce was thin and tasteless. We then waited another long period for anything more to happen (all we wanted was the bill) so, becoming frustrated and having learned our lesson with the starters, I stacked up all our dishes and carried them towards the kitchen myself. This did prompt a response - the waitress eventually brought us someone's else's bill. Overall, this was a time-consuming disappointment. In the past, we have enjoyed eating at this restaurant many times but its recent changes of name (Fish Brasserie, Waterfront Brasserie and now Barracuda), and presumably management, seem to have brought on serious decline. The staff, especially, seemed disorganized, untrained and unenthusiastic. There are plenty of other restaurants in the marina and in Brighton - don't waste your time on this one.More
