Went to Andria last week whilst staying in Kingswear, We were a group of 6 people. I have eaten in many establishments both here and abroad and this has to be one of the highlights. Restaurant is inviting in its décor and overall warmth. It...offers small plates rather than Tapas, and that is exactly what we received. Great way to eat and try new things, sharing with others. Service was impeccable, efficient and attentive without being overbearing. The menu is simple but the food is high quality, wonderfully well cooked and very varied. I will not list all that we had as my taste buds are zinging just thinking of it. Not really a pudding person but had the lemon tart with cappuccino mascarpone. Certainly the best I have ever had. Well done to allMore

I don’t normally write such a lengthy review. The fact I’ve spent this time on penning these words shows how inspiring was this establishment. A wonderful tasting menu. Shows a real understanding of ingredients. Each dish carefully constructed. Complimentary flavours which bring out the character...of each presentation . We ordered seven dishes for two hungry people. Brixham crab with apple and ginger. The subtle ginger and slight tartness of the apple superbly lifted the crab meat. A gorgeous pairing. Scallops. Cooked to perfection. And the crisp deep fried shavings of Jerusalem artichoke offers a wonderful contrast in texture to the silky-soft scallops. Broccoli. Always an under-rated (and frequently over-cooked) vegetable. Paired nicely with the slithers of chilli and tahini. Hake was an indulgent exotic mix. Intriguing match with the smoked creamy buttery sauce (…just HOW does chef Luca put that together?!!). Divine. Maybe a little too smokey; but so memorable I can still taste it in my memory today. Chanterelle mushrooms with Parmesan sauce were wonderful. Just the right cooking - firm but not too chewy. And the soft cooked egg yolk an inspiration (not quite as soft as ideal for us; possibly because we left it on-plate a little too long) Spiced monkfish was another perfection. Only a hint of spice above the lower tone of cumin. All harmonious with the cauliflower yoghurt (fine purée?) background. (Though we thought they were sultanas - not raisins?) Roast new potatoes (side dish). Perhaps a little over-fussy. Not sure the salsa verde added to them - rather more detracted from the simplicity. And finally - the fillet of beef. Outstanding. Cooked to perfection. Medallions - cooked then halved to show the beautiful rare inner with a gorgeous outer layer. Beef-fat croute was an inspiration. Deserts. One sticky toffee pudding. Luscious. And the Shapham Elmhirst cheese with port. Excellent round off. Wines were perfect accompaniments. Especially the Navarre Baluarte. Hard to find anything to change. Would have liked the dishes to come a little less hurriedly. Though appreciate the need for the restaurant to manage two sittings of only 11 tables per evening, and then to enable the lovely staff to get home on the last 11pm ferry across the Dart. Shame no complimentary bread with the meal. Really needs this to allow the sauce on each dish not to be wasted! All good restaurants should serve this as standard without a need to order. Lovely to chat to chef and sous chef Ben. Waiting staff attentive, friendly and helpful. A delightful find. Well done team Andria. You should all be deservedly proud. Hope we can come back - if we can get a booking! Karin & MikeMore

We went to the restaurant twice on a recent visit to Dartmouth. Once there were 5 of us. We all agreed that the food was great. I want to mention the staff in particular. Our 1st visit was on a Saturday night and they were...busy. However, everyone who served us, was helpful, pleasant and welcoming. The lady (front of house) was amazing! Thank you so much people of Andria. The 2nd visit was my birthday and that went just as well. Highly recommend. I had never been to a small plates restaurant before and the idea is to order a number of them - a sort of mix n match variety. Booking is essential as it's not a big place.More

Me and my husband visited this Lovely little restaurant for an anniversary lunch and it did not disapoint. Great service from start to finish. The food was unbelievable. We ordered 5 small plates and a side of chips and did not leave hungry. My one...regret was not ordering bread to mop all the plates with.More

We went because of previous reviews and could not fault the quality of the cooking and food. However it seems to be trying to be something that doesn't really work. It purports to serve tapas but the portions are normal size. It doesn't really work...where you order fish, vegetables and potatoes and they all turn up at different times and in no particular order. One of us asked if they could have the fish without the sauce as they are cream intolerant but was told, in no uncertain terms, that they could not. There was very little else on the menu. Just be clear on what they provide and you may enjoy.More

Absolutely delicious, everything is so carefully and beautifully created with great, tasty and just perfect flavours, quite divine. Staff are friendly and work efficiently as a team, great atmosphere. You don’t have a traditional meal, it’s like a take on a tasting menu.

I often visit The Town of Dartmouth as I only live a few miles away, I have often had a wonderful lunch at Saveurs the French Cafe and Bakery - I heard they I had moved to a new shop and I popped in but...there were not many suitable seats so I asked them to recommend somewhere for lunch - yes the lady said go to ANDRIA restaurant so of I went-first impression was it looked inviting so we sat down and the waiter explained they serve a new idea in eating sort of taster portions of different dishes - we chose three the first one arrived it was Brixham Crab but the portions were minute and no Bread agh that’s a extra £4 and the other dishes again were just so small- I have been in the food industry all my life and all I can say Complete RIP OFF especially when the bill was £50 sorry I will never go there againMore

We come to Dartmouth a few times a year & this was our third visit to Andria our trips to Dartmouth wouldn't be complete without a reservation at one of our favourite restaurants. We have never been a fan of the tapas concept in the...UK as it normally lets you down,Andria does say its a Tapas restaurant however we would describe it as small plates of fine dining akin to more Michelin style food. We were very greedy this time around as everything on their newly launched Autumn menu was so tempting, stand out dishes for us were the Brixham crab & Devon Chanterelle mushrooms, mopping up the delicious sauce with their outstandingly generous portion of crusty soda bread ! The only dish we were not too keen on was the roasted spiced aubergine the aubergine seemed a little undercooked. The wine prices are very reasonable although the list a little small however the Italian Pinot Grigio we ordered was vey quaffable. Atmosphere was great complimented by a cool soundtrack, being a muso it had me shazamming all night lol. Service was also friendly, efficient & professional especially the guy with the long hair & beard sorry must get your name next time. We look forward to our fourth visit soon.More

Great concept, order several small plates and share. Outstanding modern cooking, well balanced sauces. Good decor, skilled staff, great music. A really excellent evening that cannot be faulted. Well done to young teams who are keeping the industry fresh and interesting.
