Visited between Christmas and New year and had a fantastic night. The food was superb and the service was great. We both chose steaks and they were cooked to perfection and our starters and desserts were fab too. Cocktails were stand out to me, with...the white chocolate and raspberry martini being a must try.More

Firstly let me say this, the staff in there were first class. Very friendly and very welcoming. Beautiful setting. Nice restaurant done to a high standard. However me and my daughter attended for quality food. We had the pork belly which was recommended and salt...and pepper prawns followed by a mixed grill a piece. The prawns were well, just prawns with little flavour, and although the texture of the pork was nice it was drowned in an over-seasoned hoisin sauce. I Liv salt. Use probably more than I should on a day to day. But this starter was just too much. Either a chef with no tastebuds left or they aren’t tasting before it goes out. The mixed grill... rump cooked as requested (rare) but tough as old boots, egg, still snotty on top, black pudding best bit, lamb chop, pork chop, gammon... had I not left them I’d still be chewing now. Very dry. The mini pie, filling not bad but no seasoning and the pasty totally undercooked and soggy. I mean you could taste the flour. The mash I had with it was completely devoid of seasoning. I don’t expect to pay those prices to have to add flavour to my food. Cider and fries were nice, and I did tell the waitress when she asked how it was and I said it wasn’t good. She did remove one of the grills from my bill. As I said at the beginning the staff were excellent. Shame about the food. St ives restaurants in a nutshell really. Overpriced rubbish food that the tourists eat. Doesn’t matter about quality as they make their money off them then there gone for another year. Should have just gone to The Hub.More

We ate here two nights out of a three night stay in Cornwall. St Ives was insanely busy during our stay with most restaurants fully booked. They managed to squeeze us in for an hour on our first night there, we both had wood fired...pizza which was delicious. On our third night they found us a table again as someone had not shown up. We had more time this night so stayed longer for a few drinks. The spare ribs and mixed grill were both superb! Cocktails were great too. The restaurant felt very Covid safe. The staff were very helpful and friendly. If we are ever in St Ives again this will be my first choice for a night out.More

My partner and I went to the Firehouse for what we thought would be a top quality feed. I cannot say that I got that in fact! I ordered the mixed grill and I would not rush back there to get it. The pork chop...was dry and chewy along with the lamb chop. After further investigation I would not recommend the steak either with needing a chainsaw to get through it! I however did enjoy the portion of chips that did remind me of McDonald’s! If you do go to this restaurant a little reminder would be to order 3 pints of water to wash the food down with....... I cannot on the other hand fault the customer service and this was second to none!More

We normally go the to FireHouse twice in a week when on holiday and did so this time. Still a great place with fantastic food and service and well organised with COVID. Only downside ... No Haggis Fritters !!

After having booked this restaurant four days in advance we were surprised to know when we turned up we know longer had a table due to the fact that we had arrived at 6:25 for a 6:30 table, the host ( if that’s what you...can call her as her customer service skills were beyond a joke ) told us that our booking was infact half an hour earlier, we then asked to see the booking confirmation where she it had been tipexed out and then asked why we weren't called to be notified of this and were told that she was too busy to do so. The only thing I can say is if you like being spoken to as a second class citizen and being argued with at the door about the time of your reservation go ahead by all means, if not avoid at all costs.More

Very impressed with our lunch today- dishes were very fragrant with loads of herbs and seasoning- the mussels were delicious! Bread was the best I’d had in a while- the only slight niggle I had was that the served the bread with an enormous emailing...of butter which was far more than we could use and will have gone to waste afterwards.More

We had heard this was THE place for steaks in St Ives. We each had a sirloin steak and they were well cooked and deiicious. I have knocked my rating down to four as I felt it was slightly overpriced.
