Amazing. In a word. Since the unfortunate timing of Covid, visiting here has been a nightmare. I really feared it would disappear and the possibility of (walking to) somewhere wonderful to socialise in, in Stoke Bishop, would vanish. Since lockdown 3 finished and the whiff...of normalisation arose, the Hideaway has been a haven. Mia and Maddie deserve a special mention with their unfailing positivity and radiant smiles, welcoming us back (almost) every Friday for a quick drink to unwind at the end of the week. I can't recommend it highly enough. Food, hospitality, decor, drinks are all top notch and we'll be coming back again and again.More

I have lived in this area for 14 years. I longed for a local bar/restaurant where I could hang out with friends and family and come for drinks with my partner. The Hideaway finally gave me a reason to pop out on a Friday night...to somewhere local. The decor is gorgeous: squidgy leather sofas, soft bamboo came lighting and excellent table service. You are always greeted with a smile. The calimari is excellent and they have great wine and delicious cocktails. I cannot recommend this place enough and Mia and Maddy always greet you with a smile and wonderful service. Pop in. You won't regret it.More

Staying overnight in the area, we discovered The Hideaway and it was an excellent find. A comprehensive menu and friendly service. If ever in this area again I will definitely visit them as it was so difficult to choose what to eat the first time.

We hadn't booked so just dropped in as passing. Our experience was nothing short of excellent. We sat outside as there are options for both inside and out. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The menu is just amazing - it was so difficult...to choose. The food arrived promptly and was hot and absolutely fantastic. We both said that it was one of the best meals we had had. We will definitely be going back.More

What an amazing place… how have I never heard of it before!!! From start to finish I cannot fault this place. My father is in a wheelchair and I rang up before we arrived to check if ok. The lady on the phone was one...of the nicest people you could ever wish to speak to… when we arrived she greeted us and showed us to our table… nothing but friendly and kind… we ordered our drinks… again best coffee, best iced coffee I have tasted… food… wow… eggs benedict, eggs florentine and the pancakes us all agreeing that it was the best food that we have tasted in a long time and we eat out a lot…. This place deserves to do well and I can’t wait to tell my friends, work colleagues and anyone else who I know what a gem I have found today. The Hideaway deserves to do well… I can’t wait to come back… amazing staff, food, drinks and atmosphere…Thank youMore

We ate here, our local restaurant, last night with family. Once again, we couldn’t fault anything. The service is impeccable…. Very friendly, professional and informative. The cocktails are delicious and so is the food: my rare steak was cooked perfectly. We also love the informality...of the venue, it’s high ceilings and cool decor. Would always recommend this place, with hesitationMore

This was written just after the first lifting of lockdown in April. What a joy to be able to meet friends for a meal- even if we have to sit outdoors. The Hideaway has created an excellent covered area at the front of the restaurant...and we were very comfortable. Food chosen by each of us was well cooked, nicely presented and good size portions. There are good choices on the menu. Service is efficient and friendly.More
