We have been coming here if we want to celebrate an occasion with great Japanese food. Last weekend, my wife was just craving to eat here. The place get full quickly on weekends and specially last weekend when there are graduations held and celebrations follows after. We were lucky to get a regular table immediately. After us, the queue started. Considering that the price range is high, Kimpura has regular clients.
Since it’s just the two of us, we ordered Tempura Moriawase (mix tempura), Crunchy Kani Maki and Salmon Sashimi. My wife commented that the tempura was really the best she tasted. It was not oily like in other good Japanese restaurants. I do agree with her. The crunchy kani maki was tasty. And the salmon sashimi was really fresh.
Service was really good and the ambiance was nice. The staffs at the receiving area wears kimono. Great experience.

We almost always come here for family celebrations. We've been coming here since the 1980s, and they still have the same friendly staff & teppan chefs who saw us growing up.
Teppan is of course a must, but they serve competent sushi and tempura as well. Food is however prepped for Filipino diners.

The place is still busy and packed as usual, but the food is just as good! We can always count on good food here. Kimpura is mom’s go-to Japanese!

7 of us came for lunch and had a mixture of teppanyaki and tempura. Whilst the food was reasonably tasty, having eaten a lot in Japan in this past year, this doesn't stand up against the average Japanese high street restaurant.
The portion sizes were good and the service friendly but it was extremely expensive for what we had.

Kimpura’s new location in Greenhill Shopping Center was just on the other side in one of the recently constructed buildings. Located on the ground floor it was still popular though seemed more cramped than the old layout.
We sat at a regular table instead of the tepanyaki one. The menu was no different serving up Japanese food across sushi, noodles, bentos and of course from the tepanyaki grill.
Service was prompt but delivery was slow. Overall food was good as we ordered the agedashi tofu, okonomiyaki, unagi bento and mango imitation crab salad. Most expensive was the unagi and the biggest and most filling was the okinomiyaki.
It’s nice having Kimpura back in Greenhills.

Great service, good sushi and great grillwork make this restaurant a value stop. Can be loaded on weekends, and you’ll leave smelling like food.

We had the steak teppanyaki set for lunch. We shared the teppanyaki table with another couple at the other end of the grill. The steak was okay, the fried rice was underwhelming. The waiter served us an extra side dish by mistake; we were surprised to see it on our bill. The manager came to explain what happened but did not offer to waive the cost. Will not be back.

Has a lot of Japanese food selections!
A bit pricey.
They also have teppanyaki cooked in front of you.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. They let us sit at the teppanyaki table. The chef was friendly, it was a very social but expensive meal costing 2800 p the ginger was a little over powering. The complimentary tea was delicious and the steaks were tender. Was not going to try the complimentary sardines, they did smell like cat food.

Kimpura has been our family’s favorite Japanese restaurant since the 1980s so we were really happy that they have opened once again at Greenhills. The quality of the food is excellent. It has never lost the good old flavors that made us keep coming back. There should be something done to improve on its service, though. There were at least 5 different food servers attending to us; basically whoever was in our closest vicinity. When we were done with dinner, we had to call out someone/anyone to ask what our dessert options were. I believe that was not necessary. It should have been offered automatically after the meal. Also, even though they knew we were availing of their grad promo, the free dish was not served automatically. We had to ask for it before we left. Otherwise, we would have completely missed out on our freebie.

Very happy that this favorite re-opened their branch here. Larger place and brighter. The way to go is to reserve a private room. The ordinary room (no teppanyaki table) seats 8-10 and has a Php5000 consumable. There is a buzzer to summon service. The US Angus steaks were very good. Suggest you choose from the ala carte teppanyaki menu. Aside from the steak we had prawns, scallops, chicken. We also had shrimp tempura and salmon and tuna sashimi. All were very fresh. We will always keep on returning.
