We celebrated our last night in Manila at this gorgeous French restaurant in BGC. It proved a very good choice! The ambiance and service were great and all three courses were cooked and presented to perfection. The restauranteur and chef, Mark Aubry, was the ultimate Mein Host, taking the time to sit with us at the end of the evening. He talks of setting up a hydroponic drip system to grow vegetables on the building’s roof top, so watch this space for the freshest ‘roof-to-table’ produce in the area!

Great French cuisine while on quarantine

Not really a fan of french cuisine but Sagana serves the best tasting food on their menu. I have had few of their specials delivered at my door on several occasions while on ecq and it did not disappoint. I love the baked chicken quenelle and the parmentier.

One of the few places for both traditional French food and some contemporary twists

I've been eating in Sagana for a long time, mostly with my family and friends. The wait staff is always very warm and ensures you are well taken care of. But the beating heart is, of course, the fine Gallic cuisine of the chef and owner, Marc Aubrey. Marc has spent many years in my country, so he knows what people here like. He's practically Filipino. But his strength, for me, are his French classics. The best pates and terrines, French onion soup, cassoulet and couscous, and so much more. And then there are his new takes on food using local ingredients but with his touch, like apahap with ratatouille! And now in these times of the pandemic, he's shifted well into delicious take away food - a refreshing gazpacho, for example, and comforting chicken fricassee. The place is a hang out for a lot of the expat community, but is equally one for locals, too, who've been eating his food for a few decades already. Highly recommended if you're in the mood for European food.

A family Favorite

Our family love Brassierre Sagana. It used to be our couple’s place then our kids got older and now they have their favorites from Sagana. We have ordered from them during the ECQ since we miss their food and that made the household very happy. Looking forward to the next meal from Brassiere Sagana. ❤️

Consistently great food

We've been going to Sagana for years, and have always enjoyed our meals and service there. During the quarantine, we've ordered from there a couple of times, and glad that the quality of food is just as good for take-out/delivery. Even if the menu is limited, the dishes offered travel well, so they still taste good. :)

....Sagana - my favourite restaurant in Manila. The atmosphere is not too artificial, very natural, friendly, great staff, very good wines.....oh, the food. I love it, Marc as a chef hits exactly what I like: French down-to-earth cuisine that is excellent, great creations, very good to unbelievable sauces (he is just a Frenchman, they are the world champions at it), always a touch of Filipino cuisine on the menu, you feel very comfortable and welcomed, always happy to come back.

Good ambience but lousy food!

I had the cod dish but very dry and tasteless. Very pricey at 780 php so it was not worth it. My husband ordered the Angus beef at 1,500 php. The presentation itself was ugly. Dark circular mass of burnt meat which was supposedly cooked meduim. Nada Taste! The worst steak he tasted.

Excellent lamb chop and deconstructed ravioli

Braised lamb chops - one of the best I’ve had. Just drops off the bone. Ravioli - comes as some sort of deconstructed version of ravioli, but tastes really good Overall, it’s a fairly hidden place in spite of being bang in the centre of BGC and serves great food, quite a location for discreet dates, but equally good for family and business lunch and dinners.

Must have French Cruisine!

The food is AMAZING and a must visit if you are in Makati. The oysters were outstanding! I had their cod and prawns which was 5 stars, my husband had the wagyu beef which he loved. And the chocolate cake with salted caramel ice cream dessert was unbelievable!! Generous portions,fast service and amazing friendly servers.

Excellent meal, the homemade dough/foie gras plate was delicious then we ordered special chef and beef tab. Very very good meats with perfect cooking and superb accompaniments. The dessert was greedy and generous. Very good wine with a wide choice of varieties! We will return during our next stay! Thank you to Chef Marc for his welcome.

Sagana is our to go to place when my wife and I need a very good meal in a pleasant and friendly environment. The food has, for many years, maintained high standards and the chef keeps a close eye to ensure his guests are “well fed” both in quality and quantity. Very “frenchy” place serving some well executed specialties. Good wine selection. Of course a little pricey but….worth it. We shall return!!

Sagana indeed, excellent!

Ended up at Sagana by chance and a very good experience at that. I ordered the prawn brisque and daily special with prime rib with redwine and truffles sauce. My partner had the raw salad and the norweigan salmon with redwine sauce. We enjoyed this with a mondavi special private seltion cabernet sauvignon red wine. The bisque was superb and so was the other parta of the meal. Definetely worth to head back to. We had not reserved a table but they nicely accomodated us but its adviceable to book and enjoy. Thanks chef you and the team gave us an excellent treat.

Good ambience and we were there for a business dinner. the food presentation is nice and not in small portion. have a great variety of wine collection and prices are reasonable. definitely a gem and worth visiting. we had a great time there!
