Ate lunch with 10 friends without a reservation. We had the stuffed squid, barbecue ribs, chicken and pancit, chili pepper lumpish and shanghai lumpia and silapan soup. It was all delicious. Beer was warm but served with ice. Cost was 380 peso person. Very reasonable. Good service and food.

Went here for lunch since our B&B in Anilao cannot provide food beyond normal meal time.
Happy to have chosen this resto. Price and quality of food is good.
Must-try: Chicken inasal and liempo
Cooked properly but a little too sweet: Chop seuy and buttered shrimps

This is a good Filipino restaurant. We are a group of 15 and we ordered the set menu that would cost P1,400 and that would be good for 6 people. So we could have all the 15 people for only P2,800. How many places can you go for such bargain? Each set had bulalo soup, tuna belly, sizzling squid, pinakbet and rice of course.
It’s not air-conditioned but it was cool when we had lunch there. As in many provincial restaurants though, it took time to have the dishes cooked. In our case it was almost an hour. However that was fine for us as we knew already the cooking time in provincial areas. If you must go to this type of restaurants, just know that service is slow.
However if you have the time to wait, it’s a good place to have local good food.

We were looking for a place to eat different than our diving resort, so we decided to go into town and find a place. We had a look at Anilao Shark Bait Bar and Grill but it looked a bit sketchy so our divemaster suggested we try Frido's in Mabini and we were very happy! We ordered the Pork Back Ribs and they were absolutely amazing, perhaps the best I have ever had. We also had the buttered prawns and the chicken teriyaki, which were also quite good. Plus rice, 2 orders of fries and 4 San Mig beers, total came to 1000 pesos for 3 people, so about $8 each.
The atmosphere is very nice inside, quiet, with nice decor. Probably this is the only place in Mabini that would appeal to Westerners. Other options seemed very low-budget.
If you are near Mabini, definitely give this place a try.
