I am Italian and tasting for the first time Philippines food, so I can't judge what I ate. But I don't understand why, having asked an Italian coffee, I asked myself answered that there is only "American" ?! That "Italian is only with less water!...Possible that we cannot stop the water supply in the cup before? For me, it is lack of attention to the customer. He cost nothing to the repentor.More

Gerry's Grill in Bauang is a nice stopover for meals along the Ilocos Highway when travelling from and to Manila. Savor Filipino food and enjoy drinks to have a respite from long trips. The restaurant is an addition to escape the crowded San Fernando commercial...area in La Union Province.More

I have been to Gerry's over 75 times and always enjoy the food; however, this visit to the relatively new restaurant was the most disappointing experience I ever had at a Gerry's. I give it 2 stars ONLY because of the food. Anyway, the little...lady and I went on a Sunday afternoon. DO NOT make this mistake, as the place was packed to the proverbial gills and we had to wait outside in the hot sun. Not a good start but we persisted and waited our turn. The sad part is that the upstairs section was NOT open. Once inside, we were seated right in front of the doors where the sun was glaring right into our eyes. Once a few tables cleared, we politely asked a waitress if we could move out of the sun but she refused to move us. This is very unlike Gerry's! We went ahead and ordered our food and the waitress said 20 to 25 minutes. No worries. Meanwhile, I had had recent eye surgery and really needed to get out of the glaring sun, so we asked again and finally got moved two tables back. Good but late, since my eyes were now blurry and painful. After 35 minutes a waitress informed us that our 12-piece spicy chicken wings were "not available." I asked why she did not tell us that 30 minutes before and she merely gave the old Filipino excuse: "Sorry." Sorry is not good enough for me so I politely asked for the manager. A young man came to the table and said "Sorry" three times before I cut him off. I simply asked why we were not informed about the chicken not being available and he finally admitted that the kitchen staff did not communicate it to the waitresses. We could have ordered something else if we had been told in a timely fashion. Tsk! All we wound up with was 6 pieces of BBQ sticks, rice, and our drinks as a result, VERY disappointing. On a bright note, the food was good as always but th rice had been sitting around too long. We called for the bill and rather than encourage poor service and give a tip, I scribbled a "tip" on a napkin. Again, nothing against Gerry's per se, as I LOVE the food. However, the staff in Bauang are poorly trained and are a disservice to the restaurant chain. If I were in charge, I'd have fired 3-4 on the spot. Totally unacceptable service. We will NOT be returning to this particular Gerry's but will continue to go to the ones in Baguio and Bonafacio Global City. Caveat emptor!More

We are not in the habit of visiting places more than once over a short period of time however we were very happy last time we were here and decided, when we were looking for a family location with good Filipino food we chose here....It was busy despite it being a Monday but there was plenty of seats and plenty of attentive staff so we were seated promptly and the service was fast and of a high standard. The beer was chilled and the spicy sashimi appetiser was delicious. A tasty shrimp sinigang followed along with lumpiang shanghai and garlic and mushroom chicken. A banana split and halo halo completed a nice family meal in a nice new modern venue. It is quite a long distance to travel from the city just for food but in my opinion it's very worth itMore
