This is a great place for nice cafe and good service. You have a choice of inside tables or to sit outside at a sunny table. We have always found the staff to be pleasant and the service time reasonable.

We came here expecting a great snack and ordered the Churros for Two along withba couple of coffees. The coffee was ok but the churros were hard, doughy and stodgy. The only saving grace was the friendly nature of the young bloke who served us. Friendly and helpful.

Rude, unmotivated staff.

If you’re looking for a great place to stand at the counter and be ignored by multiple staff members (for a prolonged period) than this is the cafe for you. For anyone looking to experience rude, unmotivated service from a team who are clearly completely disengaged with their work, I’d highly recommend San Churro at the Hillary’s Marina. We visited this store during the evening last week. Arrived around 8pm. The store closes at 9. We decided on two hot chocolates and went to the empty counter to order. No less than 4 staff were behind the counter. All of them made eye contact with us at some point during the visit but not one of them acknowledged us, offered to assist us, smiled at us and ultimately no one served us. We ended up walking out after waiting for about 6-7 minutes while being ignored the whole time. This store often has 5/10 service, but on this visit their complete incompetence takes the cake. 0/10. We won’t be coming back.

Staff need training!!

Never have I ever had to wait so long for my table to be cleaned. While I wait I have witnessed another 5 customers cleaning theirs too. The 30 or so cups now all piled on one table waiting for the staff to get round to it.

Waited 20minutes in a queue of 3 people. The staff were inexperienced and didn’t have a clue what they were doing. The chocolate volcano was nothing special. Advertised as “gooey lava centre” there was no gooey centre.

Worst churro ever

Dropped in for coffee - 2 coffess, churro for 2 = $25.00 well that was a waste off monet they were doughy heavy and tasteless only thing with taste was the sauce, would make great kindling for a fire !!! Wont be back have had much better and cheaper cant just go on the back of great location the food needs to come up to standard. Service was good

Just once in a holiday you have to treat yourself. In the evening it’s busy and tables are in short supply. Does great coffee and the churros come hot and ready for a chocolate feast

great churros

Have been to San Churros all over Perth, with some that we've learnt to stay away from because of consistently under cooking them thus losing all taste, but this one to us is the best. Every time we've been to Hillarys San Churros, they have been cooked properly every time, and I personally love the fact that they don't go overboard coating with sugar, as I would normally tap it off anyway. One time there was no sugar and just the cinnamon seasoning, and they were actually so nice that I wanted to order more (which I didn't because I'm not a pig haha). This accompanied with the view over the little beach make this a great place to come to for a treat.

What’s Not To Like

Our grandkids love a visit to San Churro and of course the churros with various dips always deliver. Their clothes usually reflect the dip of choice! Having sampled the filled churros I can definitely see the appeal. The coffees and cold drinks are all good.

Nice staff but the worst food

I want to start by saying I don't think is the fault of the servers who tried their best to appease the situation, but they just couldn't make the dire food and drinks any better. We had to send back the churros because the first batch were hard as rocks, we couldn't even snap them in half. The next batch were softer but still some of the worst churros I've ever had, bland and no sugar coating on either batch, how can you serve churros without sugar?! The hot chocolate is an insult to Spanish hot chocolate, it was watery instead of thick and creamy as advertised. The staff offered to try and thicken it but ended up bringing it back equally watery, and let us know the recipe had changed and with the new thin cream, it was impossible to serve any thicker. They said we weren't the first to complain at the watery hot chocolate; I'm hardly surprised. Whoever in management has made the decision to change the recipe needs to either change it back or amend the menu so that you are no longer advertising "ultra thick and creamy authentic Spanish hot chocolate". A Spanish hot chocolate would never be that thin and tasteless. The only thing edible was the dips, which you can get for cheaper in a jar out the supermarket. Avoid this chain if you want decent churros and chocolate.

Hi there, I would like to apologize for your experience with our churros and hot chocolate. The Monk recipe has been changed a lot over the past few months. The new thinned cream that we use to make The Monk Hot Chocolate doesn't go as thick as the Classic Spanish. The Classic Spanish has actually returned to the menu, and it is the same as it was before. I would recommend you ordering this as it is a lot thicker than The Monk Hot Chocolate. I have had a discussion with the staff that worked during your visit and I can assure you that our churros will be checked and up to standard before we send them to our tables. As of this inconvenience to you, we would like to give you a free hot chocolate and churros for two to redeem. I hope that we will be seeing you again soon. Please show the staff member at the till this email so that you can redeem your free churros for two and hot chocolate.

Only Churros ?

While I had the very good filled churros, the others had the volcanic cakes – chocolate and caramel, which they raved about. The hot drinks were equally as good. I am thankful we were there between the rushes ! And no it’s not just churros – you are well catered for here.
