Awful and overpriced

Highly overpriced and highly underwhelming. For $50 you to can get awful frozen fish that probably came from the freezer section at your local supermarket but they will tell you it was freshly battered. Small serve of chips. Will not recommend or dine there again. The awful food is reflect the customer service levels as well.

Terrible

Doesn't deserve one star. Long wait so thought at least the food will be freshly cooked. My wife had grilled fish as she doesn't like batter. Overcooked to the point of rubberiness. My calamari was also overcooked and rubbery. Chips were too crisp (oil too hot?) and so salty they stung my lips. Awful.

The service here was terrible. Food was overpriced and we waited a very long time. People who ordered after us received their food first. The staff were standing around with only one person cooking. By the time we got the food the chips were no longer very hot and the squid tasted off.

Great fish burger, fish and chips even chicken nugget

We try this when we visit Hillarys Boat Harbour on the weekend during Spring 2020 and order fish & chips (AUD 13.5), chicken nugget & chips (AUD 10.90) plus fish burger & chips (AUD 13.90). The size of fish is still bigger in Fremantle but the taste of fish burger is great plus many types of sauces @ AUD 2 especially sweet chilli is wonderful. The place is clean but quite hard to find table and chair to sit during that time. Perhaps physical distancing during covid19 cause reduced number of chairs and tables but the view is great. Recommended.

Old frozen seafood

This food was just disgusting. They pulled everything straight out of the freezer in front us. Ordered the fishermans basket, squid rings tasted off, fish had zero taste and the chips soggy and had no taste. Would give zero stars if I could.

Worst fish and chip shop ever

Terrible dining experience. It doesn’t even deserve one star. When we received our fish, it was greasy and oily. Our order basically consisted with one thin fillet of fish with a load of chips. If you want them grilled, better add another two dollars onto that. Diner couldn’t even get their own napkins. Second of all, the customer service was appalling. Absolutely horrible. Worst fish and chips store ever. Never coming again. I suggest you to walk a bit further to Seafood Nation.

Appalling value for money.

This review has been written to make two points. Firstly to emphasize that the TERRIBLE ratings are the only ones that are correct. The portion was based on a truly vast amount of chips, and little more than a garnish of fish. It was absolutely disgraceful value to money, being about $15 for what was little more than box of chips. Secondly to emphasize the very real need for Trip Advisor to provide a zero rating. Providers such as this may then pay more attention to the ratings they receive.

Disgusting and not worth your money

Ordered a fish burger with chips. The fish burger in the picture came with salad and was fried. Get home to find the burger with the tiniest piece of grilled tasteless fish and what I think was lettuce. No flavour and bread Waa hard as a rock. My partner ordered the fish and chips and a couple of crab sticks. Ended up throwing the whole thing in the bin after a few bites as the fish was old and disgusting and it was overall that greasy it made him sick. Doesn't help that children are running the show. Would not recommend to anyone unless you have an iron stomach.

Dreadful and more Dreadful

Went here on a Thursday night. 6pm and staff already stacking the outside dining chairs. All tables were filthy. One staff puffing on an e-cigarette behind the till. Ordered our food 2 x fish and chips and one of them with salad an extra $3+. What a disappointment. We are at Hillary’s Harbour right on the sea and the battered fish was frozen and as thin as your little finger and no bigger than the length of you hand. Chips were hard and dry. No salt and vinegar on the chips and no wedge of lemon. The salad was limp with 2 1/4s of a tomato, 2 thin slices of cucumber a dash of grated carrot and about 4 little bits of red onion and no salad dressing. The total bill was $42+ with a drink. What a complete and utter let down. I would not visit this place if I were you. Dreadful, dreadful and more dreadful. I couldn’t even give one star for the food.

Worst Fish & Chips!

Literally the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had! They were using store bought frozen calamari and prawn cutlets. Rude service, feel sick after eating. Don’t understand how they are operating.

Worst food ever tasted

Worst fish n chips ever tasted!!!!! I am sure the fish was a frozen battered one from a supermarket box and the chips were like cardboard. The lady serving ought to attend a customer service course on how to meet n greet cause her attitude matched the food .... bloody awful 😖

Didn't get past ordering

Cook mentioned time to fulfill order, we replied 'no problem' and then he snapped at my wife 'what do you want me to do?!'. Confusing as we had no problem waiting. Paid for our drinks and left without ordering. Shop had minimal staff as can be expected at this time but didn't expect to be barked at when ordering food from, well a shop that sells food. A shame.

poor value and quality fish chips. Will not eat here again. Meal was not cooked properly. Had to ask for prawn to be recooked. Will not come here again.

JUST A RIP OFF

Complete rip off $18.90 for a small piece of what was suppose to be Snapper but didn’t taste like it and a heap of greasy oily chips. Disgusting and the owners of this shop should be ashamed of themselves. Wish I’d read the reviews first, says it all, but just happened to be at Hillary’s Boat Harbour to do a delivery and it was lunchtime so thought we would grab something. Couldn’t eat the majority of chips. How do joints like this survive serving crap! Warning to others, just don’t get anything from here! Check out the Google reviews of this place, wish I had.
