We recently visited The Root Cellar for dinner and came away very disappointed, with no desire to return. We arrived after 8 pm, and the place was pretty quiet, but we knew they were open until 10, so we had plenty of time. The space...More

We really liked the food and surroundings at this place. The food was tasty and it was a true plus that we were able to eat organic here as well! This would be a place I would regularly go if I lived in London, and...More

We drove by by coincidence and it looked nicely filled and cozy. And so it was inside. Very friendly staff, good choice in menu and actually great food. We had the Sword and Plough starter to share and that was a good choice. Pricey, but...More

I had the sweet potato taco cup - yummy. The service was friendly and overall nice ambiance. Will go again. One flaw - plastic drinking straw.

This is a gem just east of Adelaide. We've been a few times and never been disappointed. I believe most if not all of their ingredients are organic and sourced locally. Plenty of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options, but you can find meat on...More

I had a few hours to spare before my trip back to Kitchener. Their menu is well stacked where you know a Chef was making decisions. Beer was their speciality among vegan and vegetarian platos. Went over budget. Won't forget this experience. Small space. It...More

The Root Cellar is an organic, farm to fork restaurant located in the Old East Village in London, Ontario. We serve a from-scratch seasonal menu of all organic foods focusing on locally grown produce. Lunch available daily 11am-5pm, dinner available daily 5-9pm, and brunch available Saturdays 9am-1pm. We believe that food is political, that the choices we make about food--what we choose to eat and who we choose to support by doing so--resonate throughout our community, our economy, and our planet. At the foundation of this project is a commitment to invigorating our local economy, discovering the plenitude of our local foodshed, supporting sustainable agricultural practices, and working cooperatively.
