My family and I are good food loving people and this place 100% deliveries delicious food. Made it into my top 3 restaurants of all time. Great service, atmosphere, vibe and value. We were on a quick 3-day trip and after one dinner here we already knew it was a 7:00 reservation for the next two days. Do yourself a favor and go..!

The staff were extremely accommodating in getting us a table & making us feel comfortable. They brought us straight to the bar to get us a drink while a table opened up. We enjoyed delicious food, and the. We’re surprised with an extra dessert (which was incredibly tasty) from the chef to finish it all off!

Title says it all, we had an amazing dinner with a delicious bottle of wine and very friendly staff. I made the mistake of booking my reservation for the wrong night and they made room for us anyway and surprised us with a complimentary dessert (coffee crème brûlée, it was a light and creamy coffee mousse. I loved it even more than the mango chai cheesecake, which was also incredible)! I ordered the pork belly rice bowl for the second time because it was so great the first time around. 12/10 :)

We enjoyed an early dinner on a Sunday evening and tasted some great food. The prices were very reasonable and we scored with happy hour on the drinks, I would agree with many of the positive comments on here about the vibe and the top class service. Well worth a visit if you are in Halifax and prepared to travel a little out of the centre

Fun place that does not have an overwhelming menu but what they do, they do well. Dumplings- excellent with a distinct CDN twist. BAO’s- perfect size and delicious.
Rice bowl- beautiful presentation and just a nice meal.
And a Happy hour until 6pm. All in all, everything I could ask for… 2 people ate the above and had wine for a total of $62…worth it!

There were 5 of us who were excited to try this restaurant, but sadly it didn’t live up to its hype. All of the items we had (from appetizers to mains) were good but not great. We’ve had similar items at different restaurants in Halifax that were far more flavourful. The pictures looked amazing, and there were great reviews, but the food lacked the depth of flavour that we were anticipating, and was not worth the price paid (and we don’t mind paying for good food). None of us felt like it was a place we couldn’t wait to return to. The server was lovely though!

So pleased with the incredible service at studio east! Our server was knowledgeable and efficient and seemed very involved in the restaurant (he said he created the coffee crem brûlée!) all in all I had a lovely evening with my mum, partner, and sister! 10/10

Excellent meal! We shared the Thai style mussels, dumplings and rice bowl with fried chicken. Everything was super flavourful and very fresh ingredients, and we honestly could could have drank the Thai red curry sauce in a glass… so good! I would highly recommend, and our server (Soleil) was fabulous!

I have had the pleasure of eating here many times but for some unknown reason never written a review before. This is one of my absolute favourite restaurants in Halifax. Every time we are there the food is exceptional as is the service. They have an incredible talent in creating bright, flavourful and fresh flavours in all of their food. The food is creative and always seems to be perfectly balanced in flavours. It is really important to note that the service is also excellent. Something that was an additional surprise is the unique and well constructed cocktails. When you have great food and lovely cocktails paired with great service you will want to keep going back again and again as we do.

We come to Halifax a few times a year and always look for something new to try. Studio East was hands down one of the best experiences we’ve had in a long time. The atmosphere was great, small and comfortable. The food was incredible, so much flavour packed into everything we tried and the staff was extremely professional. Honourable mention, we were served our appetizer within 10 minutes of ordering it, our entrees shortly after, we didn’t have to wait for anything. Will definitely be returning.

Excellent asian food!We absolutely loved each dish we ordered (bao buns, dumplings, parm fries, and chicken karage). All very well presented and extremely tasty. We were there at the end of happy hour which runs until 6pm so we even got to enjoy our first drinks at 6$ for beer and 10$ for the cocktail that was on special that evening, which was a delicious pineapple daiquiri. Ambience was great. One thing I will note however is that this is a small restaurant and while our table was perfectly fine and cozy, some of the tables were not as nice and felt kind of in the way, especially on the bar side. To avoid this I would ask for a table on the other side if possible!

We love this place! It’s one of those places that is somewhat nondescript from the street. Once Inside, however, it becomes quickly evident that it’s a very special place.
During this visit we were seated near the bar and kitchen, so privy to the communication among all the staff members. They truly work together in a kind and respectful way to ensure customers are looked after.
My husband had the mussels. He said they were some of the best he’s ever eaten…not scrawny, in fact meaty, and in an outstanding red Thai sauce. He then went on to the Ribs…so good!
I had the Studio Dumplings ( excellent…super tasty) and the plant based meat dish which I loved!
We will definitely be back and highly recommend this dining experience 🙂

I live but but five minutes away from Studio East and had walked by its' doors on many occasions. I cannot compliment this place enough. The vibe is unmatched anywhere in the city and the minute I walked through the door, I knew I was in for a fabulous experience. The staff were all welcoming. Even the very handsome and very fit chef greets most customers. His brother is typically run ragged close to the stoves. The bar tender is exceptional and very personable. The servers are all well appointed and very friendly and down right interesting people. This will be my go to place to eat in Halifax as the food, service and ambience is exceptional and everyone working in the place is pretty easy to look at. The pricing is below what it should be.

I live a five minute walk away so have been to this place many times. I was recently recommended by a former patient to try their mussels and being a pretty great cook myself was hesitant as anyone can cook mussels but took her up on her recommendation and the ample serving of chili mussels blew my mind. When I had finished the mussels, there was still lots of broth left so when no one was looking I drank it straight from the bowl as if it were a cocktail but would not recommend doing so as there were crunchy bits that were bits of mussel shells. The “bread” accompanying the dish was fried boa which is not for the calorie restricted but also one of the best things I have ever eaten.
The entire staff are top notch and the co-owners are brothers who travel the world researching new food and menu items often with their very well known chef father. It is highly recommended but fear now with their being placed so highly on Trip Advisor, that when I go it will have to be very early. I have eaten at several of the #1 restaurants in the world in Denmark, Italy, Peru and England and would rate this small but mighty restaurant away up on my top fifty.
