How to have a date during the pandemic? Send your husband to pick up a delicious meal via trunk service from aFrite, banish the kids to the family room, pour wine, light candles and voila! We ordered the Mediterranean platter and it was amazing! Friendly service when we ordered and picked up. Don’t forget to tip! Looking forward to eating in the restaurant once this is over, but trunk service provides a tasty alternative for now. Thank you for a great date night dinner at home!

We specifically went to this restaurant, after having watched Andrew Al-Khouri, the owner and chef, appear for the second time on Master Chef Canada. And the food served here clearly shows why he was invited to come back.
The restaurant is a little on the small side, while the food served is probably in the top 3 of all the amazing restaurants in Halifax. The night we visited aFrite, Andrew was not around - which impressed us even more, as it meant that he had very well trained chefs who could step in and produce such amazing food. I would highly recommend the Baba & Kafta - Batirsh.
Our server was very knowledgeable about the food, friendly, and helpful. She truly made us feel welcome, and made sure we had a relaxed and enjoyable night.
The prices are more than reasonable for the high quality and truly delicious food that is served.
We are really glad we found this restaurant, and look forward to visiting again, when we are back in Halifax.

My husband and I had aFrite on our list of restaurants we definitely wanted to try in Halifax, thinking it was a French restaurant based on the name (I've been told this happens a lot!). We love Mediterranean too, so were just as happy with the menu. We ordered the Mezza board to start - I would highly recommend it. Fresh as can be and absolutely delicious. My husband had the paella which was a big serving and delicious. The cook came out to check on us and chat about the food - both he and our server were very personable. I would certainly go back!

Our group of 4 came here for brunch on a Saturday morning. We were told that their debit machine wasn't working so it was cash only at the moment. We had cash so we stayed. We should of went elsewhere... the food wasn't very impressive. We all tried something different. Non of us overly enjoyed our meals. The prices were expensive for what we got. When i came time to pay it took quite a while for the waitress to return. She was unable to print a receipt as they were also having technical difficulties with the printer as well. My bill showed a tea cost 5$ when I questioned her she said they changed the price but hadnt changed the menu to reflect it ( the menu was 3 dollars). Overall very unimpressed. Do not recommend.

We took advantage of their 4 burgers for $40 deal. The burger was quite good overall, not too saucy and the meat was cooked just how I like it. The fries with it though were not good, incredibly salty to the point of being inedible. Not a huge portion of fries though which I’m ok with personally. Definitely good value but not something I would order again I think.

When we are feeling a little tired into the Farmers Market we go and then always land at aFrite for brunch. It is always so good, the staff if lovely and always welcoming. It is kinda a quiet spot probably because we always land at 10:00. The coffee is great but the chicken and waffle is amazing. I always feel great after such a lovely brunch.
My favorite brunch spot in metro.

I have had take out from here couple of times and the food is awesome. Pork belly udon noodles is one of the best fusion dishes I ever had in Halifax. Halibut fish and Chips is also really good. Friendly staff and good food, will be back again

Wonderful last minute dinner decision. Excellent food. Best hummus and baba ganoush ever. The baba ganoush was especially fabulous, very smoky and filled with flavor. Fries were outstanding, as was chimichurri on the steak. Perfect oysters!
Service was exceptional. We had a lovely evening. We will be back!

An OK brunch spot. Centrally located on Lower Water Street in Halifax, it's a good destination for brunch and lunch options. I enjoyed the traditional eggs Benedict, and my wife had the egg white sandwich. We were both amazed to see that coffee comes in a French press. Something everyone had to have about 20 years ago. Seldom seen now, but we enjoyed having our coffee served in this manner. Staff was friendly. Our only disappointment was the egg white sandwich was WAY too salty.

Held a private event here. Everything was outstanding. The food and cocktails were delicious. We had a spread so we got to sample most of the menu - all great. The hummus and donair, and the chicken and waffles were highlights.
The staff were professional and accommodating, and service was quick. The owner (Andrew) and the team were very helpful, and set up the restaurant really well so we could have a relaxed and enjoyable evening.
I look forward to going back to aFrite for dinner. Highly recommended!

We made a last minute decision to try this restaurant. And was not disappointed. We had raw oysters, meze board, calamari, fattoush salad, strawberry shortcake and Hali Rose drink. Everything was absolutely delicious. And the service was great. We will definitely be back!

Have been here a couple of times. Once for dinner, another time for after dinner. Both times we had a great experience! The first time around, the food we ordered came out as advertised. And we got a quick chat with the chef as well. These are the flavours we enjoy in a cold place like Halifax. Love their patio dining in summer! But too cold otherwise. Only disappointment one time I stopped to book a table for an 11:30 am brunch and was told they don't do Sunday brunch reservations. The staff told me they're sure there will be enough tables by then, and that they'll remember me. Well, when we came back it was all FULL, with a queue out front. So that kind soured our tastes for a bit. Sometimes I think local staff here need to be more straightforward to customers.

We chose the brunch spot due to the fusion items on the menu. The twists to the korean bibimbap for brunch was interesting and the chicken and waffles were delicious. Although the lobster arancini was nice, the texture was just a little too mushy for my liking.

I was disappointed. We were a group of 8 and 5 of us ordered the Donair Meatloaf. The meal was overcooked, hard to cut into and dry. I mentioned my disappointment to our waiter who simply said, oh I’ll let the chef know.
Furthermore when we received the bills we were not informed that gratuity was included so we all over tipped for a poor meal.
The place was as nice enough but I won’t go back anytime soon.

Amazing little Halifax spot ! The basil lime mimosa was soo good , I loved the hot chicken sandwich , and everyone else enjoyed their meals as well. French press coffee was great and service was fabulous. Highly recommend
