We tried out Vera last week. It was unreal! The pizza was fantastic, their meatballs are unbelievable, and their salad is simply delicious.
Great vibe in this place as well. I just wish they opened for lunch! Staff was super friendly and super welcoming.
You need to try this place out!

Pleasant evening to sit outside with the umbrellas providing some shade. Service was extremely pleasant. Appetizers of olives and crostini were excellent. The mixed salad was large enough for 2 to share. The greens were very fresh and crisp, red onion and radish slices and cherry tomatoes and a superb lemon Parmesan dressing made it so good. Pizzas were all fabulous. We shared the Calabrese, the Funghi and the Napoletana. Best chewy crust in Winnipeg!

The owners, staff and food are great. Whether we do take out or dine in our experience is the same. it's tiny but who cares!!. During this crazy time, we are in quarantine and Kelsey is nice enough to deliver to our home. The meatballs are to die for - way better than other places that offer them.

Ordered a few different pizzas and was hoping for some tasty pizzas, but they were lack lustre. There was hardly any taste to them at all, the prosciutto just tasted like salt and really had no other taste. They pizzas I say were just fine, but nothing to write home about.

A very small menu and surprisingly very few pizza options. Albeit the pizza was tasty but expensive. I would opt for the pizza next door at Monticchio any day. More bang for your buck and just as good. Seating is cramped, especially in the winter. If you go in the summer at least there is more outdoor seating.

Amazing food and atmosphere. Love this place and everything on the menu! Good selection of local beers too. Everything is made with quality ingredients.

Service was pleasant. Orders came quickly. Monday is bring your own wine night ($1/corkage fee). Salad was decent but very bland. Pizzas were okay but the bottom crust was undercooked and quite soggy. My fungi pizza was lacking in flavour. Asked for dried chilli flakes but it needed more than that. Seriously, there is better pizza out there......I feel this restaurant has declined in its quality.

Pizza is cooked in the open. Small restaurant with somewhat abrupt service even though restaurant was not full. Menu is small but adequate. We had the Meatballs as an appetizer and they were absolutely fantastic. There were four large meatballs and were well worth the cost. The pizza was good but not great. For the price, the toppings should have been more plentiful. I'm glad I tried it but likely won't be back but may get meatballs for take out.

When most of the menu and reputation is all about pizza, you should get it right. I may have visited on an off day because this restaurant gets mostly good reviews, but I was not impressed. My “Funghi” pizza crust’s bottom was literally wet. The mushrooms were good, but the cheese was minimal and under seasoned. I didn’t detect any seasoning. Even a few ripped up basil leaves would have been welcome. Same problem with my wife’s Margarita pizza. Soggy bottom, under seasoned, and minimal ingredients.

We really liked the crust but they are very skimpy on the toppings. The crust was burnt on top and I could have just put that down to our pizza, but everyone's looked like that. I just asked for water to drink, at those prices a slice of lemon and some ice would be a nice touch. Our server was not overly friendly or talkative. I had heard good things about this place, but have to say it was sadly disappointing.

Service was efficient. Salad with lemon Parmesan was fantastic...so crisp, cool and flavourful. Big enough for 2 to share. Pizzas came out quickly and the dough was amazing. We tried 4 different pizzas and they were all great......the funghi, The Napoletana, the fennel sausage, and the salami. We left absolutely stuffed!

I love Vera! It’s the best pizza I’ve had outside of Naples. Both the margherita and marinara pizzas are superb! Prices are great for both pizzas and starters. Menu is brief but they do it all exceptionally and at great prices. Small space, friendly service. With kids they are quite quick. We were in and out of there in 30 minutes! And they brought the kids stickers. Great for vegetarians

Being Italian and having been to Italy I have been on the hunt for authentic Italian pizza and this is the best place in the city. I really have no complaints about the service. The restaurant is pretty small so you could be waiting for a table and it's the type of pizza that does not hold up well as take out due to how thin it is which doesn't hold any heat. I would have rated them 5 star but had to take one off due to the size of the location and not being able to make reservations. But mainly I took off a star because I feel the toppings or the combo of the toppings could be more authentic. The menu is also very small. I usually get the Calabrese Picante without onions because no Italian would put onions on a pizza. It is delicious and I recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic pizza! Don't complain that it is thin crust because obviously you don't know authentic if you do and need a trip to Italy or just go to Pizza Hut.

Maybe I am bias and have had good authentic Napoli pizza along with great service, but I’m being very generous giving Vera a 5/10. Firstly, our male server had zero personality, he was borderline rude, abrupt and you could recognize that he truly didn’t want to be at the restaurant, let alone serving customers. Wine selection was pretty basic... 1 type of red and 1 type of white- EASY enough to make a choice-LOL.
We ordered the meatballs to start, which were the BEST part of the meal and a salad- we only ate 1/2 of it, the dressing was terrible, I would describe it as a “creamy yuckiness”. We also ordered a margherita pizza. We finished the meatballs and part of the salad, then waited and waited... (we even joked in conversation wondering if they had forgot that we also ordered a pizza). We were finally approached by our server and he asked if we “wanted our pizza now”, we relied “yes!”. Shouldn’t the server be watching the table, and know when to bring out the entree??? (As we already had placed the order...) The pizza arrived and was placed on the table, the server walks away. No conversation, can I get anything? More water? Parm? More wine? Our plates were dirty from the starters, (meatballs/salad), and we wanted clean plates for our pizza. I had to signal to have the server come over and ask him to have some clean plates /cutlery brought to us before we could start eating. Pathetic. The pizza was just OK- it wasn’t bad, but it sure wasn’t great. Vera pizza is far from any real Napoli pizza that is cooked in a wood fired oven with authentic ingredients. I was excited to try this cute restaurant in the heart of Riverview, that so many people have raved about. It definitely did not live up to the expectations, I likely will not return. Disappointing.
