Tasty Treats for all appeitites

I just love family run restaurants and this intimate venue always delivers the most delicious- (thus living up to its name!) Chinese dishes around. For starters you can't beat their lunch combo deals. Not many places can still give you a great deal for just over 10 bucks but you can find it here. Don't miss out on one of the best soups you will find anywhere on the planet with their Peanut Noodle Soup. Love their hot and sour as well. Love their "Super Snow" and for that matter all the dishes are cooked quickly and to perfection. I do keep a vegan diet but have brought many "reluctant" meat eaters and they left the place very happy and many have even returned many times.

Back Again And The Food Is Even More Delicious

I think it's been 6 years since our first review and about 3 years since our previous visit due to covid issues, so it certainly was time to get back to rediscover the amazing Delicious Vegetarian Restaurant. And we were so happy to find things were just as we remembered and some even better. Hot and Sour Soup is a major player on this menu and it has only improved with age. Almost a meal in itself, this lovely assembly of great goodies delivers taste level after taste level and continues to be rated a 15 out of 10. The beef in black bean sauce is one of the best beef dishes you will find locally even though it never gets close to a cow. What a great plate of quality and flavor. Eggplant tastes just like eggplant but even better. Not sure how the eggplant is prepared but you won't find it better than what shows up on the plate here. Vegetarian shrimp is a surprise but the chicken is not a favorite. Likely just me, so give it a go and I hope you find a new treat for yourself. Exceptional service that earned the highest tip I've ever given and I still think it was short for the effort and delightful professionalism that was delivered through our entire meal. The decor is pretty well ignored but clean to a fault. Covid masks are required so make sure you bring yours as there are no masks provided. Parking can be a problem so there might be a long walk from where you finally stop your car. What a great pleasure and experience to have the chance to visit Delicious Vegetarian Restaurant for such a wonderful dining experience.

Dinner was pleasant in a very chilled environment

Waitress seated us and gave us a menu with a piece of parer and pen to write down our orders - strange but ok by us. The menu was extensive so did want to ask a few questions but since we had to write down our order we went with a dish that was highly recommended on the reviews lol Fried Tofu with Peanut Sauce then a safe-ish option of Veg with tofu with steamed rice and Hong Kong style noodles. The food was tasty, my 3 year old loved the noodles and rice dish, as did I. Hubby loved the Tofu Peanut dish. something for everyone.

Avoid this place!

Avoid this place! The server was rude and inconsiderate. They give you the food in take out containers with a cheap plastic fork and spoon No condiments no napkins and NO service other than throwing the dishes on the table and walking away Plastic fork was cheap and unsturdy. Food nothing to wrute home about and a little expensive I will never set foot in that restaurant again! .

Lost their way

I understand the current pandemic situation is hard on everyone and restaurants in particular. But making patrons keep their mask on during a previous visit even when seated at the table is just plain wrong. We attended again recently, (why?) after calling in a few times to ensure they were open I called just before leaving to make sure they were open and the person that answered said yes. What that person who answered neglected to state was that they had recently changed policy and now were open but for take out only. The same person who had answered the phone asked what we were there for when we arrived and seated ourselves. They only then made it known they had changed policies to take out only. When asked why this information was not provided during the calls I had made to enquire of the restaurant status I was met with silence. This situation has been rough on everyone but a little common sense goes a long way. If a change was made from dine in to take out only a great idea would be to let your patrons know about it when they call in about the current status of the restaurant.

Thought it would be better

With all the positive reviews I thought the food would be better. Hot & sour soup was good. Fried mushrooms greasy. Portions small and not much taste. Waitress was ok but brought out appetizers last. A bit on expensive side. For sure would not come back.

Best Vegan Chinese Food.....Maybe Anywhere!

The food here is fantastic. Everything on the menu is Plant Based so you don’t have to guess. It doesn’t matter if you’re vegan or not the food is fresh and delicious. Everyone will love it. One thing, they only accept Cash or VISA...nothing else.

Great place!

I love Delicious! Have been going for years!! The lunch specials can't be beat for price or service. For dinner, I especially love the ginger beef, and sweet and sour gluten balls. I always see everyone I know there. Friendly space. Clean, well put together. Parking can be tough now that Stella's is there, but well worth the search! Be aware that they only take Cash and Visa.

Best vegan Chinese food

When ever we order Chinese it is always from here. Our favorite dishes are the delicious chow mein, sweet and sour gluten balls, Hawaiian fried rice, and the fillets with with lemon sauce or schezwan sauce. Really anything you get will be good. It's also a good idea to go for lunch, you get a lot of food for a really good price! You get soup, a spring roll and then you pick your main dish. I always have leftovers. The staff here is also super friendly and best of all, everything is vegan!

Amazing deep-friend mushrooms...and everything else.

Delicious is one of my favourite Winnipeg restaurants, even though I am not a vegetarian. The food is all very well-prepared and flavourful, and it's very consistent. I particularly love the tofu in peanut sauce, the eggplant in black bean sauce, and the deep fried mushrooms (mmmmmm). Their soups are also very impressive, as they make very tasty stocks without any meat. The restaurant is nicely decorated with black and white photos of Winnipeg, and the staff (owners?) are very friendly. Strongly recommend!

Excellent service and DELICIOUS food

My husband and I were going on a lunch date on a work day so we wanted a quick lunch. I called delicious vegetarian and asked whether they could have two lunch specials ready for us at noon. When we got to the restaurant, the entire hot meal (soup, spring roll, and main meal) was set up on a table for us! The food was so delicious as always! I am amazed by the service! We were able to enjoy a wonderful meal and get back to work quickly all because of the excellent service at this restaurant!

Did not disappoint!

After hearing great things from friends we decided to try this place. Very friendly and fast staff, lots of choices and the food comes out quick and hot! We had the deep fried tofu with peanut sauce, lemon filets, spicy wontons with chilli sauce, mixed veggies and deep fried tofu with Cantonese noodles, “chicken” with green onion and ginger. The lemon filets were amazing and I much prefer them to the traditional lemon chicken, the other dishes were also very good. I will definitely be going back!

Try the Eel... but it’s not eel 😃 🍄

This place is amazing, every item is DELICIOUS. My fav is the eel, deep fried mushroom 🍄 words can’t explain and I hate mushrooms. My friend is have gluten allergies and they have a dish for people with gluten allergies. A must to visit and enjoy something you’ve never had before 😘

The deep fried mushrooms at this restaurant are worth the visit. The hog and sour soup is also quite excellent. Everything you order at this restaurant is vegetarian and flavorful. Bring Cash or a credit card. There is no interac. Also bring your appetite you will not be disappointed!!
