We avoid downtown at all costs but sometimes you just can’t avoid it. So when we have to go downtown anytime between 11:30 and 2:00pm we make sure to hit up Affinity Vegetarian Garden (or East India Company). You pay by weight and although not cheap, the prices are reasonable including 10% off on Mondays. There are staples like the shanghai noodles (SO GOOD!), steamed veggies, tempura veg or yams, and sushi (although the variety varies) however the other items frequently switch up and never disappoint. This is our favourite little Chinese lunch buffet. Great place to eat for vegetarians and non vegetarians alike.

Good Home Cooked Plant Based Dining

My friend and I went for the (vegetarian) lunch buffet. The family was most gracious in their welcome. The buffet is one where the diner selects the food from among the choices and the plate is then weighed to determine a price. (some folks might prefer a set buffet prices but I can see the value of not having diners overload and then waste food). The various dishes, all vegetarian as one might expect from the name, were delicious. the buffet is available only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There is a full menu in the evening, (4:30 to 9 pm) with no one dish more than $20.00 and most less than that. This was my first visit, despite my being a long time vegetarian and I will return.

Best Taiwanese fusion food in winnipeg, definitely recommend bringing your friends and family here! Staff is very sweet and the atmosphere is calm and comfortable

The food is amazing and totally vegan! It is not very expensive and so delicious! I fed this to my meat eating family and they all said they would have thought it was meat and raved about how good it was! They were really good about my allergies as well! I was very impressed and will be eating there more often!

Inexpensive mom and pop restaurant.

Staying at the Delta Hotel and looking for dinner, came across this little restaurant. Owners are super friendly and helpful. Menu had a lot of choice, all vegetarian. Food was good and inexpensive. Atmosphere somewhat lacking, decor quite dated. Overall had a good relatively inexpensive meal with great service.

We are visiting Winnipeg for one night and chose this place for dinner. I’m vegetarian and really wanted a completely vegetarian menu where I didn’t have to worry if there were any meat on it. We chose a variety of items on the menu. We absolutely loved our meal. The ambiance was charming.

honestly, I had so wonderful experience in many vegetarian meals in restaurants and I expected when I will go to this place which is specifically vegetarian food see some wonderful menu. they had a buffet with maybe 10 or 12 kind of stuff almost all of them were close to empty around 1 pm. the names on top of these 10 -12 kind wasn't really specific about the ingredient which make it hard for a person new to the culture and for a person with allergies. I tried the sushi which wasn't really lovely and I just had a bite and didn't even finished one because of the weird taste of it. overall not really a place to go for a good meal. but the staff were friendly and kind and they were keeping the place clean which was nice.

A Great Meal Before A Jets Game!

We have eaten here several times before and decided to have dinner before a Jets game a couple of weeks ago. I had the corn soup (wonderful) my wife the won ton soup (loved it) and we shared a "chicken" dish that was terrific. Interestingly, the corn soup is, on the menu, exactly the same price as the two soups included in a 'plate' dinner, but they won't allow you to have corn soup instead. Somewhat bizarre, and cost them as we'd have spent more had we been able to order that way. Strange! One problem likely is communication. I'm not sure what the owners / wait staff speak, but I know I'm not fluent in it and so we were unable to communicate well --- actually, not very well at all. Still, great food at reasonable prices is a guaranteed shared level of communication. We'll be back and look forward to it! (The language issue, is why I rate service at 4, not 5, and it is important to say our waiter was friendly, the food arrived quite quickly, was hot, and delicious!)

The buffet was a super convenient lunch option as it was fast and delicious. There were lots of vegan options too. The table service was slow but that was just for drinks. And my criticism of the food is that it was very oily. My partner would probably rate it 4 stars but I think it was your average restaurant food. Still would go back and probably eat lunch regularly if I lived in Winnipeg.

Very Good Vegetarian Buffet

We met a friend at Affinity for lunch. Time was limited, so a buffet was perfect. We got there about 11:30 AM and were among the first to eat from the buffet. The food was fresh and delicious. Interestingly, they weighed our plates after we put the food on them and we were charged by the weight. It worked out to about $25 for two of us.

We went at lunch and had the buffet. Of the 12 or so items, there were no distinct differences in flavours or textures. Everything had oil on it, even the green beans and brocolli. Would have been nice to taste and see some fresh ginger or garlic or cilantro.

My fiancé and I visited for dinner and it was awesome. I had combo D and he had combo A. We both prefered combo D over combo A but both were really good! The servers were extremely friendly and the food came within only a few minutes. We will definitely be back again!

I'd like to start by saying that I am not a vegetarian, but even I found the food to be excellent! However, the experience was soured by the absolutely terrible service. A group of us (~10 of us) went there for my niece's birthday. We ordered our dishes promptly... but we certainly didn't receive our food that way! We were lucky to get one plate of food every 15 minutes! In the meantime other customers in smaller groups came in, were served, finished their meals and left before we had even received half of our dishes! Most of which consisted of rice and noodles, which don't take long to make. There were long periods of time where there was no food on the table. Any person coming in who glanced over at our table would have thought we had already finished our meal based on the number of empty plates! I have never received such poor service in all my life! Myself and my husband are pretty laid back people who have both worked in food service, and so we are understanding of the challenges that can occur in the industry, but in this case there was absolutely no excuse for the abysmal service we received! We even tried to ask for more food, and they didn't seem to want to do business with us! They basically ignored us! They never even asked us if we wanted any beverages! Not even tea! It was like they didn't even care about doing any business... Part of the reason I am so angry about it is the fact that, as we sat at the table and started receiving our dishes super slowly, I really came to enjoy the food and was looking forward to the meal ahead! The crispy black mushrooms were excellent and I was even planning to ask for an order of them to go, but at that rate I probably would have had to wait 45 minutes to get them...We didn't even receive all the dishes we ordered! In short, it is a real shame a place that has such good meals totally fails in the serving of them....
